I actually prefer the look of the 888.
Me too. The 851 / 888 is a stunner. And like Couchy I think the 916 hasn't aged that well. I do like the 999 in a geeky sort of way.

There's no accounting for taste is there? :D

To me the 851/888 is generic slabby 80's motorcycle whereas the 916 shape is unmistakable and timelessly beautiful. It's one of those vehicles than even non-bike people would like.

I prefer the looks of the 851/888 to the 916, the 916 is over styled.

Ha...

The thing I like most about the 916 is that it's so understyled :D It's a model of restraint, how to make something look good with the minimum of fuss. Just like an E type.

I'd also take an 851/888 over a 916/996/998 any day. Friend of mine has a mint 998S Final Edition he's owned from new in 2004, did very little for me when it was new and I still feel the same now...

Back to the question of an RC30 - if it's on the bucket list and money is sat in the bank, why not? Cant see you'd lose money on one....

I think I'd rather an 888 SP4.
I think that the 999 is raging remarkably well.

OK I'll bite, what's the plan Stan?
I'll let you know when I've figured it out.

After the last couple of days I've had I feel like a pair of shorts, a sailing boat and nowhere in particular to be is all I want in life.

Seat unit is too high and too big, makes the rear tyre look small. It’s a recognisable shape but that’s it for me

For looks alone I would have my 998s back tomorrow. For riding experience - hmmmm
