Swipe back

Post by PitaNaanRoti »

Any way of making it return the main menu/index after posting and then swiping back.
As it stands you’re going back through 2-3 pages.
Nod to UKGSeR where after a post, swiping back takes you back to the main page you were previously on.
Much easier and makes navigating around the recent threads easier and faster
Whatever you do - ffs don’t make it like a certain MTB forum......

On mobile for instance.
Swipe to go back pages.
Other forums it takes you to the main page you clicked the thread on.
Here you have to go back to the page you were on before you posted, then the post, then the original page, then the threads list (new posts, board index, etc)

Not something I've ever seen or heard about. I use a mobile in same way as a desktop.

Android or Apple?

Apple.
If you’re on UKGSeR you’ll see how it works.
Same on both though - mobile and Mac.

BTW - if you go here from your MTB link there is no log in available anywhere!

I expect that's to do with the Cookies/GDPR thing potentially..

I'm not on UKGSer or on a MAC. LOL

Yup, just checked on a new clean build machine... you get the error/nothing until you accept cookies.

Hmmmm.

Nope - click on the link from STW and you get the home page fine.
You can view all the threads, etc but there is no log in or register link or box anywhere using Chrome on a Mac.
Just tried it again. It's fine in Safari and mobile though.

OK - weird.
Copied link in safari.
Pasted into Chrome.
Goes to this thread but still no log in/register anywhere.
Click on username and it finally gives me the log in/register page!!
Log in and return to this page - nothing.
Can see it but can't reply as there's no quote/like/report or reply boxes!

Not sure i have anything useful, i'm testing it in IE10, Firefox and Chrome, when i get to the page i get nothing, but once i click the cookies box it's all fine and happy.

I've made the cookie message stand out a bit more.

Thanks for the testing, but not sure i can do any more than i have. I can disable it, but that's then an issue with the GDPR crowd.

Not getting an "accept all cookies" box Weeksy otherwise I'd click the bloody thing!

Edit: logged out, cleared all cookies, still nothing. Have to click on a username to get the log in page.

I don't have a MAC i can test it on.... within the settings there's no OS specific settings i can change.

I guess to an extent i have to just suck it up and accept it as an issue. I can't see any other alternative

Edit... Try once more please.

GOT IT!!
Was down to AdBlocker sitting on the background in Chrome despite there being nothing here for it to block.
Paused and whitelisted - the red cookies box came up.
Odd as had already accepted it the first time.
