In other news

I got my Mum a Bosch WAU28T64GB Serie 6 washing machine delivered on Thursday with "EcoSilence Drive: Delivering an efficient cleaning performance, by using the EcoSilence Drive for a powerful and quiet wash cycle, with a 10 year guarantee." From the first wash it was making an awful noise - sounded like the main drum bearing (if that's what they have) and shook all over place on spin so that was picked up yesterday and I need to find another. I'm gutted that Bosch have let me down
This may sound like a very silly question, but were the transport bolts removed when the machine was installed?

There would probably have been three of them that would have been needed to be unscrewed from the rear of the machine.
I installed it and I didn't remove any transport bolts
Did you RTFM?

I was washing my hands in the gender neutral toilets at work and a man walks in. He looks into a cubicle and then turns and asks "Am I in the right toilets?". It wasn't when he saw me, no, it was when he saw the toilet seat down.

It has been soooo exciting.

Bought some ingredients for tonight's meal, had a very pleasant coffee, bought a pair of shoes in 10 minutes flat*, mowed the grass. It's an oligarch sort of existence.

* Fine English shoes, made by fine English craftsmen (paid with fine English pounds with a picture of the Queen on) from fine English cow skins. Just need to put the red laces in so people know they're messing with a true patriot.
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.
But certainty is an absurd one

Went for a ride on the bike.

220 mixed miles, fast duals, fast twisties, slow nadgery lanes, and a few Mway miles and a city centre thrown in.

Bit of a test ride really, I like the little 500 for local bimbling, but worried a bit if it was enough for a possible trip to Euope next year, The answer is a resounding 'yes!'. Now if I can catch SWMBO in the right mood ..........

Saw the GP today. Had to have a medical.

Came to the downstairs part of the exam and she gets her chaperone ( another female doctor). One is now on her knees, on the floor cupping my wedding vegetables and pulling bits back etc.

I say ‘I’m half expecting a dude to walk in and try and fix the photocopier in a minute’. I’m still laughing about it now, and it was hours ago.

Anyway, they didn’t laugh. I even offered to do ‘the helicopter’. I mean for fucks sake lighten the mood- it’s an old man examination for nasty stuff.

Sadly I decided to drive to the valley today - had to leave at midday and TBF, it was still pretty damned cold up here, so wanted to look at the dodgy section of road on four wheels not two!! LOL Probably a good idea - 2 degrees up here and someone had thrown half the ingredients for tarmac over the dodgy bit, half good if there was frost there (there wasn't any on the road by midday!) but a smidge dodgy with the amount of gravel/raw tarmac!! LOL

First stop, physio - and he had me doing an exercise that used a makeshift 'abs roller' - so you hold a sort of bar that has wheels and push it as far as you can and pull it back towards you. Well, he wanted me to use my arms/shoulders, not my abs. Damn if that didn't make me seriously happy!! No way could I have done that a few weeks ago!! Hands and knees then roll a bar away from me and back! Freaking awesome :bblonde: :bblonde:

Definitely hoping for decent sunshine on Thursday for the next appointment as he needs to see me sat on the bike to see the arm position (and probably needs to sit on it too so he knows exactly what the arm position is!) - any excuse to ride down TBF :angelic-green: :angelic-green:

Then a fun French lesson - the school ran out of classrooms so we sat outside in the sun, and the prof still shivered!! These valley people are like softy southerners

Last stop was for some oil for the bike - had a great chat in French with the guy in the shop. So that's good too! :D :D

Life right now is a bit of a struggle over all - but at least I can go ride the Monster sometimes when the sun is out and the roads aren't icy!! :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: So huge thank yous to you bunch of superstars, especially Demannu xxx

A few meetings in the morning via Zoom, then out for a face to face meeting with fellow priests. Took a funeral at the Crematorium at 4pm. Came home, wife survived the MRI of her head, will get results at some point. Booked her PCR test for her trip to Hungary to visit her poorly father. Need to book the lateral flow test for her return journey. Been a busy day.

Made a couple of phone calls to cancel a training course this morning - no way to get there and stuff, so I'll do it next year. Positive bits - the director that I thought would be a bit stroppy about it was fine and has recommended that I sign up as someone who passes leads to the people qualified. So I can still practice my networking and learn a bit about the set up, and, get a small commission on any sales that actually happen :D :D (I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I plan to be an estate agent!! But hey, if I can sell a couple of chalets, I can buy a nice bike LOL)

The had coffee with some friends, then met a friend from rehab for lunch. He drove all the way up to resort which was really kind. I've been to see him a couple of times and once in hospital when he was really low. He was really kind to me in rehab and so when he was having a hard time and was back in hospital (he kept getting infections in the operation site :( ) I didn't think twice to go and see him (was going to 'that' far to drop a friend at an airport, so wasn't totally a special trip!).

Kinda sweet that he thinks I am radiant!! LOL I think the translation is that I radiate kindness - I mostly smile a lot! LOL But it's nice to hear :D :D

Then headed to physio. He's another awesome person - I'm lucky with both physios. He was a bit mean to my arm muscles tho!! But hey, hopefully I can ride the bike by the weekend! LOL

Just about to start a french lesson then I will wrap up in a duvet cos it's bastard cold in here!! LOL Pain killers and an early night I think :D

Planned to ride down to the valley this morning as it was a balmy 8 degrees in resort. Figured that even at 10:30 it would be warmer in the valley. But, the physio seems to have been a bit mean yesterday and my arm was definitely hurty, so I took my friends car

Fcking glad too - it's got a temperature reading in it and it did agree that it was 8 degrees in resort. Went down to 4 degrees on the dodgy corner, which would have been fine on the bike if there hadn't been half a ton of grit shovelled over the road :o :o :o Count 1 to being glad I took the car

Then, the back road from the bottom of my mountain to Bourg, well damn that was a somewhat chilly 2 degrees!!! :o :o Count 2 for being glad! LOL

Heading down tomorrow hopefully but probably not until midday!!
