Tracer out...MT09 in. 😁👍

Post by Dodgy69 »

Deal done with Wigan yamaha. 6400 px and 500 off new bike. They install accessories free of labour, so heated grips, Tail tidy and rad gaurd it is. Tracer has been and still is imo a cracking bike, does everything well, but the 2 year iche got me.

Going with the icon blue. It's got all the essential gadgets 🙂 up and down QS and all them mode things. Non sp suspension is cheaper but no pillion so should be fine, I ain't no heavyweight. Comes with S22 I think and they seem popular. I'll sort a little screen, bobbins etc. The tft screen are quite small but info is all easy to see.

I'll need to sort out roll back strapping points but no rush for that. Tank ring will be needed aswel.

The funny thing is, it was the colour that tipped the balance. If no blue, tracer would stay. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yamaha's model designation confuses me. Is that the same engine as the Tracer?

Happy new bike day. 8-)

Happy new bike day Paul.

Like @Skub , I'm not sure of model designation - is this an SP, or a standard MT, assuming there is such a thing as an SP?

I'm still loving my blue Yamaha, even if it has one more wheel than most people are happy with :D

Enjoy

The tank and frame look like it's been squashed between 2 trucks.

Yep that's it... Euro 5 CP3 shared with tracer and xsr. Few more CCs but similar output. I've gone for standard MT. Think about 1200 more for SP. Gets you better front and back suspension and cruise control. Maybe a bit more but nothing I was interested in. Upright riding, pegs felt comfy. Front view of funny headlight looks ace to me.

Felt light as a feather lifting off stand. All the gadgets for biking fun. 👍

I'm not shocked after recent posts, but thought the luggage etc of the tracer would have seen it stay as you're partial to a trip away.

Ace bike though mate, congratulations

As a riding experience how different is the MT to the Tracer?

Massively so,my tracer lasted 1 month. The MT a fair bit longer. The tracer just felt too normal and sensible and the extra weight dulled the performance. Still a good bike but after the MT which was a lively fun bike it didn’t cut it.

I'm not sure if they are the same. Engine update. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not ridden MT but hands, feet, arse angles seemed pleasant enough. Reviews say brakes are decent, suspension probably stiffer than I'm used to and should be fine. Looking forward to the auto box as much as anything else. Got to sort roll bag fix but shouldn't be too much hassle. We will see.

I’m beginning to regret putting off collecting mine till March.

At least I could have gone out to the shed and looked at it over the winter.
