I think there's 8 layers of paint on it, it's been red at least twice, not sure if I can be arsed to run it down, I've found a fibre glass mudguard in the shed that's either TZ750, RG500 or XR69 that I might use instead.
Given the state of that frame to start with, the only problem is that the hammers are too small.
It's a pipe cutter, I cut pieces of pipe to join the pieces of frame together where it had been cut at the back, it's then an interference fit, hence the hammers, I was going to get it welded but the fit is so tight there was no need.
It's only the bit that mounts the mudguard and tail light bracket
I don't believe so, I've been told it costs £350 to get them rechromed, could have bought some new ones for that and the £180 I paid for them.

I've had a look and apparently you can paint chrome, you need to sand it first to get the surface rough enough for the paint to stick to
At the moment not, the current plan is get it going (it's been in bits for nearly a year) and ride it before going full tart up with the C reg frame, which really doesn't explain why I bought a pair of Allspeeds when I've got a pair of good standard pipes.
