I'm not watching it, but it's supposed to be aces.

Like MrLB I don't got Netflix, so I'm watching a C5 program about motorhomes instead.

I just watched 15 mins of un-narrated YouTube footage of a guy shoeing a horse.

Fitting new shoes that is, not giving it a kickin'.

I started watching it - and then realised that I would have been happy if everyone it it died. So it took away the suspense really ...

Nine Perfect Strangers on Amazon.

Nine strangers, all with a back story, attend an exclusive retreat hosted by a mysterious Russian guru. Back stories reveal themselves, characters interact, comes to a finale.

Missus loved it, I thought it ok-ish.

Those berets on the Pongos at the end !! :wtf:
I didn't notice them, I'd pretty much lost interest by then. It is so inspiring for women to know they can have everything, a successful job, a family, a lesbian reationship, overcome their fears and an action woman lifestyle all whilst preventing WW3.

Vigil Only just started, but looks OK based on the first episode, if'n you can ignore terrible CGI and blatant technical gaffs (but hey it's a drama not a documentary) first thing I've watched on auntie beeb for many a moon.

And probs the last too.
It started off OKish, but soon circled the drain

Don't watch The Starling which is trending high on Netflix. It makes The Straight Story look like a high-octane action film!

Mellisa McCarthy is in it isn't she? That's a big NO! for me.

My recent watching has included:

The Green Knight - Dev Patel as Gawain in this telling of the Arthurian tail of chivalry. I was really looking forward to this a I love a bit of Arthurian legend, but unfortunately, whilst it looked absolutely gorgeous, it was a bit plodding and dull.

Free Guy - An AI character in a GTA style video game gains sentience and decides to do good and becomes a internet sensation and a pain in the game makers side. Ryan Reynolds being Ryan Reynolds but turned out to be much more fun than I expected.

Nobody - That guy from Better Call Saul does a John Wick but without the balletic shootouts of Mr Wick's film and more down and dirty crunching thumps. Pretty good entertainment.

God, it was awful. Who cares what happens to a bunch of did functional and self obsessed Americans!

Green Knight - watched this last night. Mark Kermode's review eulogised about how great it was. It seemed to have been filmed in almost total darkness, with everyone mumbling - and a really nebulous narrative.
I left the room and watched a documentary about the Manic Street Preachers... it was better.

Well its not a box set but I've just finished the 8th book of The Expanse this week, its been a decent read and flowed on from one book to the next.
Not quite Ian M Banks Culture books mind but I've liked em.
Kind of left it open for another book and I'm happy to buy it when its available.

I think there is one more book due and that will be the final volume. I'm on book 3 at the moment, Cibola Burn.

Ahh, grand. Cheers for the info.

I've found it to be an easy read and always wanted to keep reading them.
Plus I mostly like the characters which helps.

Read them all so far, the last one comes out later this year. They're OK and I've mostly kept reading them 'cause I wanna know what happens.

The titles make them sound like fan fiction IMO.

The final book is due out in November,if I recall correctly. I'm rereading the one before in readiness.

The dvd adaptation of The Expanse is quite good too.

First was weird. 2md still almost as weird, then it eventually makes sense
