WSBK - Portimao

Post by wull »

What’s the craic with the tyres? I’ve heard something that’s very vague and doesn’t go into much detail but what I’m understanding is that for the full length race 1 & 2 the softer rear tyre won’t be available…………..

Is this more bullshit to try and favour that Irish whinging coont?

There's enough conspiracy theories in the forum without having to drag it into the racing too.

WSB has had tyre issues a few times now in the past few years, wasn't there one where they had to swap half way through a race ? or was that Supersport ?

ISTR Phillip Island did an F1 type pit stop for WSBK because of safety concerns over tyre life.

Sounds like your mate Rea may struggle to stick with Toprak in the races then.

I wonder how much Kawasaki are paying Pirelli not to take the SCX :)

If JR/Kawasaki get beaten around here,we'll know for sure they are in trouble.

Nice to see Gerloff showing form again,I hope he can stop being gun shy in the races.

Laverty made some mess of his bike....

Baz doing a good steady job.

Times are relatively close at the front, in FP1 TR54 set a faster time but had it taken away because of a yellow flag.

JR looks as if he could crash at any moment, out of shape quite a few times.

Leon Haslam is looking a bit racy. Poor old Rabat,it doesn't seem to matter much which bike he's on.

Toseland getting a bit of flack for calling Redding on his bicycle racing and attitude before this round.

I think the basic gist was..Redding was asked how he thought his weekend would go and he said he'd be behind Toprak and JR,hoping to pick up the pieces. Toseland said this was the wrong mindset for a championship contender,as it sounded like SR had already given up. Doing a 9 hour bicycle race was also considered to show a lack of priorities,SR should be conserving energy for the wsbk races.

Not a verbatim quote from Toseland, but the general drift.
