Barclays has a 1k limit in the app and the cheque is a bit more than that, hence the failing offline attempt.

Yeah we called it endorsing a cheque. Sign the back of your paycheque and hand it over the bar.Count Steer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 1:27 pm Can't you sign cheques on the back and give them to someone else to pay in any more? I'm sure you used to be able to reassign them.
At chucking out time, they gave you cash back for what you hadn’t drunk.

ITV Hub. Well, not the Hub itself, the fact that I can watch ITV using FilmOn but I can't watch Hub
So, a new series started a few weeks ago, I watched the first and then couldn't find the next few. Just found that it's on ITV Hub
There is another that has just started that I fancied watching but I expect that will end up on ITV Hub as well
Sooo - won't bother to get into anything on ITV any more
I know I know, I could use a VPN. But the cost and the fact that it fcks up other stuff on my puter means I won't. I will look at a 4G router that I can put a VPN on, but again, I think cost will be an issue there

eBay fees. Don't get me wrong I don't mind paying for a service and I'd probably never have sold it if I hadn't used eBay, but I think their charges are getting a bit much now and the cheeky sods hang onto your money for a couple of days.

Household Paperwork!
I'm normally on top of this but I end up managing accounts for all sorts of things for multiple people and even households - so inevitably because of modern life these all need to be linked to (different) email addresses and mobile phone #s that I can also 'manage'.
Except every now and again I miss an essential email or text and it all goes tits up. And it's all my fault.

Breaking my own resolutions. Having nearly emptied the shed of stuff I decided not to trawl the tip for more.
Two chops saws, a survival suit, a water heater, three empty toolboxes, a cordless drill and charger, and a frying pan later....

I don't wear a flat cap.
Actually most of this stuff gets passed on when I can, I just don't like seeing useful things being skipped.
One of the chop saw was only fit for spares, the other needs it electronics looking it, I think there's a blown resistor. The survival suit fits, needs the logo hiding, the frying pan is in the wash, I haven't got to the rest of it.
There was also half a roll of blue 2.5mm three core flex.

The hype around a 'new' Bond film.
FFS, it'll be the same as all the others. Big opening scene, dinner jacket, fast car with silly gadgets, fawning female characters and a villain with a secret hideout somewhere logistically impossible to have built without people noticing.
Load of arse wank.

^^^^^^ This
"Do you expect me to talk Goldfinger?"
"No Mr Bond, I expect you to die!"
Why the fuck Goldfinger didn't just put a bullet or two in Bond's skull there and then I have no idea but it would have prevented a lot of shit.

That unfolding glider thing they launch from the rear of the cargo plane looks cool.
Almost as cool as the mini-jet that comes out of a horses arse in Octopussy.

I reckon you could probably write a reasonable comedy based around mocking the tropes in bond films.

Along the lines of the battle of whip V sabre in Indiana Jones, when he said 'Fuck it' (or similar) and shot the other bloke.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 9:18 amI reckon you could probably write a reasonable comedy based around mocking the tropes in bond films.

Apparently it wasnt scripted. Ford had delhi belly and didnt want to work that day. So he "shot" the guy....director thought it worked so it stayedHorse wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 9:42 amAlong the lines of the battle of whip V sabre in Indiana Jones, when he said 'Fuck it' (or similar) and shot the other bloke.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 9:18 amI reckon you could probably write a reasonable comedy based around mocking the tropes in bond films.

On the subject of Bond, the woke brigade pushing for the next movie Bond to be female. Shall we change Jane Eyre to James Eyre whilst we're at it?
The Bond character is male, FFS. How about writing some strong female characters into the Bond franchise instead of swooning birds in need of rescue?
