Just got back from Croydon (which is always a relief) and I passed five garages, none had any fuel.

A bit of traffic in West Wickham as there was a bloody great van abandoned near some lights with a sign in the window, 'Out of fuel'.

No disiesel to be had anywhere up here, between Ashbourne and Chesterfield, and I've only got half a tank left so I'll be working from home for the rest of the week.

The only up side to this whole sorry shite show is if it carries on into next week I'll have a legitimate excuse to not got to a family wedding down south we've been trying to swerve out of.

Fingers crossed.

If you can find any fuel:

'Figures from the RAC show the average price of a litre of petrol rose from 135.87p on Friday to 136.59p on Sunday as motorists scrambled to fill up their vehicles, with the cost of petrol hitting the highest level since September 2013'.

Supply and demand, grand innit?

I would honestly have expected more loading than that. Less than a penny.

I don't think the increases are over yet. :(

One of the local garages in Ashbourne thought it would be a nifty idea to stick 20p on a litre on over the weekend. After a swift round of fucks from just about everyone on the local fb group they dropped that idea...

During the last fuel crisis, early 2000s, there was a greedy petrol station owner in a village somewhere . The locals blacklisted him, and he went bust a few months later :obscene-birdiedoublered:

10-minute queue to get in Tesco garage tonight. Mainly because they had no diesel.

I needed food, not fuel, so wasnt an issue for me.
Saw that the nearby Tesco had petrol today but no diesel, but we both have enough diesel to take us to the weekend. Bloody silly situation.

Bugger all fuel where we live, as soon as they take delivery the dickheads start queueing after other dickheads announce it on FB.
I've got to drain the lawnmower tomorrow to put a bit of fuel in the bike for the week 🤦‍♂️

Surely there must come a time soon when the cars are all full up?

You'd hope so!
Just saw an interview on TV stating that a woman queued to force £1.69 worth of fuel in her car as was already nearly full! Crazy....

Panic buying sounds like it attracts such logical people after all.

I suspect said lady had some kind of anxiety disorder about running out of fuel or similar. Most of 'em are cvnts though.

Ridiculous queue in Stamford Hill/ Mare street Hackney .
Lot less traffic though .
CBR has full tank but it's at FWR having its down pipes cut open and re welded .
NC has 2 bars and that means either loads or not much ...
People being dickheads ... where's my little stud pony when you need him ?

In the east end lots of UBER etc - hybrid cars but still need fuel and it's surprising how far some people drive for work even in Greater London

I followed a petrol tanker for about five miles through East Sussex last night, fastest lorry I've ever seen down that road, it was like the driver has been told he's exempt from speeding tickets.

That may well have been the one in Langton Green, not far from Tunbridge Wells, down in my old stamping ground in Kent. It had the dubious honour of being the most expensive petrol station in the country at the time.

I hope they have some tomorrow, I'm supposed to be having a procedure and I'm not supposed to use public transport to get there. ( Not that buses are immune to blockages caused by fuel queues)
