Well tough shit, because I quite like how it looks, but now I'm torn, new R7 or new Z650RS?

Though either will require spending the best part of 8 grand, I can feel the cold sweats already, but it would be nice to have a bike that'll run on modern fuel.

I'll have a green one please.

Might even be able to get it into the living room. ;)

I'd be surprised if the original made 54bhp, they were no faster than an RD400
True, I bought an RD400 off a mate who was getting a Z650, the Yam was faster (at least when I was rideing it and it also wheelied better.

You're right, it's going to be like the Z900RS again, I'll fancy one until I look closer, think "that looks cheap and nasty" and not but anything.

The only Kawasaki I've had the misfortune to own,a Z650 cost me more in oil than petrol to get back from Barcelona  .
Not one of my better used bike buying decisions...

Looks alright, but like the XSR7 will be a little flaccid. More than enough poke for the road, but unlikely to really blow your skirt up.

Cheaper, lighter, can be restricted for lower license classes, lower seat height, cheaper to run/insure, less intimidating power level, etc...

It's for girls/learners/short people.

All the above, plus it's for old farts who have fading memories of the old aircooled Zed's back in the day,& want something for running around on that won't break the bank..
I wonder if the hipster's will do anything with it?

And maybe a bit less likely to be nicked as soon as you park it at home / work...

Yes that, I like how it looks, it's fast enough for what I want, and it's not too heavy, the exhaust looks stupid, but that's true of all new bikes.

Yes, ER6 engine, I think it's just a restyle of the current Z650

I fancy a Z650RS, BUT it's going to be nearly £8000 to buy one, which (to me) seems like a hell of a lot of money for a tarted up commuter bike.
