Apologies : GDPR and Cookie stuff.

Post by weeksy »

Due to a comment from someone i've had to implement a GDPR specific policy.

https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtop ... &t=2464776

Information there above.

This means i've restrospectively enforced all users (and new users) to accept the GDPR requirements before being able to post again.

I also noticed myself that there's a pretty vague cookie button just after that too, but i'll work on getting that more pronounced and easier to see and click.

I can only apologise for the inconvenience guys... but i guess in some ways it was a valid concern so all good.

It's been what's commonly known in the trade as a sodding nightmare to implement this policy, very frustrating morning indeed for me !!!

Any questions, issues or discussions, please shout.

Thanks fellas.. Just trying to keep things as transparent as possible on the forum regarding decisions and how and why.

I know as a forum user i sometimes have thoughts of "WTF, why on earth have they done that"

It's now becoming apparent that not always is the answer "Just because we were bored and wanted to" but "Because we HAD to..."

So just wanted to let you all know the how and the whys.

As said in the other posts, i'm trying to make this forum a bit 'different' to many we know and use, a bit more interactive with the users/posters. Rather than just saying "I'm the boss and that's that.."
