Re: PANIC BUY!
Car was under a quarter to go, so time to look out for fuel.
Passed four stations on my way home (Reading) all sold out. Next one had a small queue - four cars, so ten minutes later, we're full < result.

Re: PANIC BUY!
This bring a certain level of complication for my weekend plans. I've got enough for Sunday for heading racing/back. But not sure it'll be viable to do my Swindon jaunt i had planned with GP tomorrow. Especially as i'm not planning on going out today for it.

Re: PANIC BUY!
How typical. We've gone from the odd petrol station being short or out of petrol for a short time, to all petrol stations being sold out everywhere. What a twatty species we are

Re: PANIC BUY!
Not seen any queues when I was at work, been to a newish garage to fill the company car, straight in no wait. None of my crews have reported queues.
Further north, Leicester upwards they are queuing.
Girlfriend is at Asda, Tamworth, no queue, she even filled the petrol can for the lawnmower.
Sounds like a repeat of towel roll-gate and flour-gate during lockdown!!

Re: PANIC BUY!
Every media outlet has been screaming about it. Every talking head has been saying 'No need to panic buy'. What did they expect to happen? If they'd kept their gobs shut we probably wouldn't have noticed much.

Re: PANIC BUY!
Glad I’m on holiday for the next 2 weeks.
Every station we passed on the way back from Margate had queues out the forecourt.

Re: PANIC BUY!
Wife's car now has low fuel light on and all the garages round here are shut as they've run out of fuel. I think I have some fuel left in my car about half a tank, but I have shopping to deliver to my Step Mother in Romford. The wife can use my car and its fuel next week if we can't get any petrol for hers over the weekend. I have one more trip to work and back in the scooter and then it'll be £25 a day on public transport if I can't get fuel.

Government womble: 'There is no shortage of petrol'
Us: 'I can't get any petrol for my car/bike, isn't that a shortage?'
From the same playbook as:
Government womble: 'There is no shortage of gas'
Us: 'Noone said there is, we're complaining about the price you incompetent whelk'.

Re: PANIC BUY!
Heading home yesterday queues at every local petrol station I passed. I need to fuel the bus as I do every Friday for the weekend. Went out at 9pm last night and all petrol stations local now closed and out of fuel so that’s the weekends plans changed. Luckily our other car is electric but that doesn’t fit bikes in which was the weekends plans.
I see people blaming the media and they have to take some blame but we have a govt that should be running the country

Re: PANIC BUY!
Even when there are no shortages panic buying quickly overwhelms the system doesn't it? The same thing happened back in the early noughties with the fuel protest thing.
