The MV looks like a designer bike, whereas the Trumpet looks well designed.

Seems to me that this Speed Triple should be the Thruxton, rather than the retro Thruxton we have now.

Looks like an attempt to grab a bit of the retro sports bike market. Those bars are low!

Specs on the Triumph site... 180 hp, but also 199kg... dry! Add 15.5 l of fuel and other liquids and I'm guessing it'll nudge the scales at over 480 lbs.

Which is about the same as a current R1 GSXR1000 or S1000RR...

Gopping.
And now they have no sit up super stupid naked bike in their catalogue after the last lot of meddling with the Speed Triple which turned it from muscle bike to naked sports bike (IMHO)

I thought it looked quite nice then saw it's 18k so it's consigned to the not even worth looking at pile.

I love that new rocket 3.

There, I said it.

I'm not surprised Triumph want to wrap a fairing round the new Speed Triple, Bikes like the Kwak Z1000 SX are flying out of the showroom because they are a more usable bike than the naked. Lets wait and see low less radicuk the riding position is on it once in production.

There'll be a steady trade on bar risers.

Strangely I quite like the Rocket 3 too. A run on one would most likely cure me of that!

Me too.

In fact I'd rather spend £18k on one of those than the new Speed Triple, much as I like both of them.
