Kawasaki reckon the late 70's Z650 made 64bhp. The current Z650 (twin) makes 68bhp.

That 650 twin motor is a peach tho', far exceeds expectations for a shopping bike.

I would like a mid sized retro, but if it looks like the 900 I won't be buying one, plus it's a twin, so it's going to be more Z750 twin than Z650

So would I. The Z1 made around the 80bhp mark and it was much quicker than the Z650.

They were quick. In about 1978 I had a GT750 which was way faster than an RD400.
I had a race with a new Z650 up a long hill and it was pulling away slightly. At the curve at top, he pulled away when my pegs dug in
