How on earth did "windfall", something that we don't want, become a metaphor for something good, something that we want? :?:
Saves climbing trees to scrump them!! LOL

Losing a contact lens around the side of my eye.

I'm still sorting out the right size for mine, this is set #5 and I've been off them for a few weeks while my new ones arrive. First time in nearly a month wearing them today and I absently mindedly rubbed the corner of my eye.

Bad idea! It popped the lens off the front of my eye, said lens then promptly made its way up and around the back of my eyeball. Getting it to come out again is not a job for those squeamish about eyes. :D

I went to an optician after an extensive attempt to remove one like that. Turned out that I'd not been as pissed as I thought the night before and HAD removed it.

Won bloody tickets to a music festival, which would have been nice, but I didn't pay attention when entering and it's for this weekend and I'm already committed to shit elsewhere :angry-cussingblack:

Sodding recipes for courgettes

How can you make a recipe when the volume is -

3 courgettes, or 2 large courgettes!!!!

I have what I would consider 2 large courgettes - but I bet they don't mean two that size!! FFS!!!

My lad just moved in to his uni 2nd year house share, left in a disgusting state. Surely the landlord/agent should have least made sure the house was habitable!

In no particular order....

Having my first day back at work in two and half weeks.

Having my dog do that rubbing her face thing in grass this morning and managing to find a dog turd with the side of her stupid head.

Those bastards at Swarovski for discontinuing the bracelet I was getting Mrs. G for her birthday.

Them bloody full face snorkeling masks.
Most UK kids have gone home so beaches are a bit quieter so we went snorkeling. We acquired another full face thing so I tried that.

We have a horse shoe shaped lagoon which is cool for snorkeling about 200m across.

About 3/4 of way across the mask was making my jaw hurt, a lot. I felt uneasy and then breathing was a bit difficult. Couldn't face swimming all the way back to headed for the other side.
Bit of sand then 50m walk over lava barefoot to the promenade. Fuck that hurt but the promenade would be OK. No. Red hot from burning sun. About 400m walking on hot coals.

My feet are burning now :(

Banks that refuse to let Mrs.Skub lift her money in cash form, when she refused to tell them what it's for.

It's only protecting her,apparently.

Student landlords...

Take a month's rent deposit from every student -> refuse to refund it 'cause the house was left in a state -> don't actually use the money to clean the house -> leave it to the next lot.

Glad to see things haven't changed :D

Regulatory requirements in terms of protecting vulnerable customers. They don't know if she is being scammed or coerced, so they have a duty of care to ensure they are protected.

None of my business, but why take the cash out? Easier and safer to do a bank transfer, surely.

I got one when they first came out and now have 5 in the house from people bringing them and leaving them with me.

I think they're ace as they get a lot more people enjoying the water but I don't use one myself. When I tried them out it created pressure on my temples which was very uncomfortable and I find they're not that good when diving to pick stuff off the bottom. I have a regular mask and snorkel.

Lot of people like 'em though.
