I don't like the bellypan. I'd probably rather have a factory Monster. The fuel cell sounds interesting though even though I'm not totally sure what they're offering there.

I think they mean it's got a race car style bag for the fuel, inside the carbon 'tank'. It means the tank bodywork doesn't have to be water (or more accurately petrol I suppose) tight.

ATL here in MK.

They make them for NASA and F1 teams though. They do loads of off the shelf designs too, but they tend to he cube shaped.

That's an interesting technical problem. Touratech sell fuel bladders to carry spare fuel on stuff like the Dakar so I guess suitable material is available if you can make the necessary connections. It wouldn't need to conform to the tank interior exactly - if you accept a loss of volume you could space fill around with something like vermiculite - lightly bonded to maintain the void space? That would keep the bag away from the rusty bits too.
I think the ATL materials are only guaranteed for 5 years so you'd probably need to be able to swap the bladder out every once in a while.
Probably not a big market though.

I don't need the 18 litres the tank on the Kawasaki holds, 10 would be plenty, but it's far from cube shaped as the frame runs down the middle of the tank, otoh both my FZ750 and FZR400 have roughly elongated cube shaped tanks.

ATL do make non cube stuff, it just costs a lot more!

You can buy their roughly cube shaped cells/tanks off the shelf when you're building a rally car or whatever. I.e. a tank you can just plonk where the back seats used to be and which conforms to FiA crash regs etc.

F1 etc. uses stuff which is fitted precisely to the inside of the chassis for maximum space efficiency. F1 is famous for being cheap of course.

It would probably be cheaper to get the existing tank cut open, all the rust removed, repaired and welded back up again, I was quoted "about £200" for this a couple of years ago, never got round to it because I have a spare tank for it.
