Oddest/daftest thing you've ridden/driven?

Rolls Royce 20/25 was the oddest with its adjustable fuelling and timing on the steering wheel!

CR500 was the daftest. I remember trying to ride it down a country loan with the thing rearing its head in every gear, attempting to smack me in the face! I kept thinking, how the fuck does someone race this - in wet mud!!

I had a go on them when I was 14, loads of fun, someone rode into a swimming pool with target fixation. If it wasn't that then very similar with both rear wheels driven and no diff.
Putting feet down is why my trike had to go, the person it was intended for did it twice and refused to try again.

I have tried a few of these, those 8mph ones with no suspension throw you off at the slightest thing, like when a driveway crosses a pavement. The bigger 14?mph ones with a pivoting axle are much better, more good fun until someone drives into the back of you at a junction because they can't see over their bonnet. I could get 20mph out of them downhill.

Had to ride my dad's back from the hospital after he'd gone for a cataract operation without telling us and hosp wouldn't discharge him unless I collected him in my car. Riding a mobility scooter when clearly able bodied is shameful especially past rush hour traffic

I've ridden an ATC250R, it had a retuned CR250 two stroke engine, I don't remember it being especially mental or dangerous, it didn't want to go round corners.

Daftest thing is deffo a Hovercraft. Handlebars have no bearing on which way you go, they just decide which side of the vehcile is going to hit the obstacles.

Easy!

Well, ish. The trick is in two parts: understanding that pushing to the side means it will want to turn, then using the trailing pole as a rudder.

The worst thing about the ATC's was if you came into a corner a bit hot and braked the inside rear wheel would lift, sometimes quite violently - what's the instinctive reaction? - put your foot down on that side cue running your leg over, being wrenched off by running your leg over, panic and let go of the thing entirely or any permutation of the above. Hateful things for beginners, great fun for hooning around a dusty concrete track when you knew how to ride them.

Fortunately this didn't happen to me, but I can see how it could, they certainly need a confident approach to cornering.

The 250's were longer and wider, never ridden one but I would guess they would be an entirely different animal. These were the 110's - if the balloon tyres were a bit under pressure (usually) they were even worse with the bike rolling the opposite way to the direction the handlebars were turned

Didn't the 110s have no suspension?
The 250R was like a Motorcross bike with 3 wheels, long travel forks and pro link rear.

Going from three to two wheels on the ground means that they go from direct steer to countersteering!

The only way to make them corner quickly was to drift the back end round

I seem to remember that the forks had some travel but the rear was solid, but you're probably right - all done by the tyres!

Purple Slug is 66ft of hybrid bendy bus worth 648k!

Truck is a Maggie Deutz, I drove the later ones. 12.6 litre if I remember right, air cooled V8.

Wee bus is an Albion Viking, 6 speed crash box and sod all brakes.
