Thursday 16th or have I fallen into the Mirror Mirror universe where time runs backwards again?

I’d prefer Wednesday 15th and I could do 16th but I’m on nights the following week and there’s no holiday cover (+ it would generate mutterings about taking leave on nights).

22nd is currently ok. The rest are already booked solid.

Peaslake is good for gathering and opens everything up nicely.

I've done 40km a couple of times around Peaslake. A rough guide is 18 miles is about 2,500ft of climbing, most of that is on road or fire path. The drawback with the Surrey Hills is that it's quite uppy downy. Still, the singletrack is worth it IMO. I usually avoid drops and gaps, mainly because I want to make sure I get home again and have twatted myself a few times when riding alone.

@derek badger you coming out to play?
As its only about 10 miles away I'll try and make it, work is a bit mental at the minute so I'll let you guys sort a date and then let you know.

Thursday date has been corrected ...

Some suggested dates:

Wed 15th
Thursday 16th

Wed 22nd
Thursday 23rd

I have avoided Friday / Mondays because of travel hassles.
Two potential start times 12.00 wish
Or 16.30 ( but we will need lights by then)

The only place I know to meet is the Walking Bottom Carpark at Peaslake...

Thoughts?
I can do Thursday 16th.

Happy to start at midday or 4.00pm. Earlier the better because of daylight obvs.

Walking Bottom is the best place to meet.

Battery permitting I'm happy to go out at both midday and 4.00pm.

I'm heading to Peaslake tomorrow morning if anyone is interested.

Haven't forgotten this - so will apply time to it tomorrow and try and get something a little more firmed up.

Are people better positioned for the 22nd?

If not, for those who can make the 16th - a 12.00 start to allow for daylight etc.
I am assuming that I will be mended by then - but it seems to be a slow process !

I can do both 16th and 22nd.

Was out on the Peaslake trails on Tuesday. A good day, trails very dry. Ventured on to the steep and rooty trails off the south side of Pitch Hill. There are a couple of drops and jumps, all of which can be easily avoided (which I did).

Both work just as well/badly for me. Due to school, I can't leave till 3:15 from Berks. So I guess really in my world I'm more a weekend rather than a weekday

If there was a weekend one, would anyone be interested ?
It would have to be a 08.00 start to get a parking space

We're racing 11/12 and 25/26 sept weekend but mostly free. 8ish is ok but more realistic is 8:30 rather than 8

As long as we don't have the kids then I'd be up for a weekend ride.

Walking Bottom and Pitch Hill car parks will fill up quickly in the morning but the other car parks on the hills will have spaces at 8.30am, it just means a cycle up the hill at the end.

Beanie,

Can you suggest another met place / parking area,
I am still okay fro the 16th , if anyone else is ... and up for a weekend met, where maybe more can going?
Obviously, as it now nearly Christmas, evening could be curtailed due to light being needed (ok with me as I ride through the winter in the evenings)
