Why on earth would I be buying a bike based upon its potential resale value? That's not what bikes are for, they're for smiles, pleasure and enjoyment. The fact they have any resale value at all is a bonus.
Using your logic we may as well just eat crap food as you just shit it out anyway

If history tells us anything,I'd guess it will be 20 years down the line before electric/battery vehicles and infrastructure will be in the majority.
More than enough time for us to enjoy the best designs of the infernal combustion engine.
I'll maybe switch to the milkfloats when I'm 86.

You won't need to switch when you're 86 Skub. Step into my 'showroom' in 2041 and pick a box-fresh one. Discount for RTTL senior citizens.Skub wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 3:39 pm If history tells us anything,I'd guess it will be 20 years down the line before electric/battery vehicles and infrastructure will be in the majority.

Of course, when you collect it and try to ride away, some spotty yoof on a bike that looks like it's made of Lego will point and laugh and say 'Haha old timer, you're not still riding that old, slow, smelly thing are you?' Then do a vertical take off* and disappear silently** at Warp 3 powered only by a Duracell battery the size of a Parma Violet.Skub wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 3:47 pmPost saved.Count Steer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 3:45 pmYou won't need to switch when you're 86 Skub. I meant that it's not worth Yamaha's time and money developing a new model when there's a very definite end in sight for the ICE.
It makes far more sense to take what they've already developed and squeeze the last drop of potential out of it. They've invested a fair amount of money in developing the twin and the triple - I'm not in the least surprised to see them be used as a basis for some very different bikes, and even those the race rep sales have dropped almost out of sight, a set of new clothes costs to clad the existing bikes costs relatively little.

Suzuki gave up making new bikes some years ago.

Yup, but you can't deny it looks great.
Apparently it's an official colour scheme for 2022.

Re: 2022 Yamaha R7
The official pricing has been revealed.
The normal one will be £8,200 and the spiffy 60th Anniversary one will be £8,500.
I'd defo be finding the extra £300.

That's cheap enough to be viable.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 8:44 am The official pricing has been revealed.

Re: 2022 Yamaha R7
The MT-07 is £6,902 RRP (dunno about the £2?)
So about £1500 for some USD forks and a fairing

Still looks good with all the road kit...

I'd really like one, but I know the MT-07 is too small for me and that doesn't look much bigger.

It's the official press launch today, I expect to see some initial impression on the socials later.
