I know, there's also a test for cut resistance. But I once bought CE-certified gloves and found the upper was made of Spandex. (I returned them.) How hard can the Level 1 test be if Spandex gloves can pass it?
Buy the standard from BSI and let us know.
OK to save you £200 on EN 13594 and another £200 for EN388
There is no cut resistance requirement for the back of gloves that are class / level 1
Just reading through EN13594, yes I am that sad, and I had it open anyway.
But it seems I'll never find a CE 2 glove that I like as they have to have a cuff of at least 50mm, I much prefer the 'shorty / stunt' style as they're comfier, easier to put on, and cooler (as in thermally not trendy)
In response to industry lobbying, the UK Government has just extended the deadline by one year, through until the 1st of January 2023, for the placing on the market of CE marked product to still be acceptable in GB (England, Wales and Scotland). The link below is the updated guidance just published. This html text is the only guidance available at the moment, with product specific information (including PPE) still to be created.
@MrLongbeard I guess we’re all different (I much prefer long cuffs because I find ‘shorty’ gloves too drafty and uncomfortable). However, I imagine race gloves might seem wrong if I had a Harley.

I wear what's comfortable / offers me the protection I want, I couldn't give a flying monkey's left nut as to whether it seems right or wrong for any particular bike.

My MD was in the car park when I pulled in earlier this week, apparently I wear to much black to be safe (everything except the sole edging of my trainers and yellow palms on glove is as black as your hat) he got told to jog on an all.

I have no experience with Five gloves beyond trying on a pair at a bike show. But their SF1 gloves are CE certified to Level 2 (they're not cheap gloves, mind you).
@MrLongbeard I thought gloves required a long cuff for the CE2 rating, yet the Five catalogue (p.54) says Level 2.

The standard requires 2" cuffs on level 2 gloves (measured from the assessors wrist line).

Ah yes, they probably do have a 2" cuff, just judging by eye the amount of material below the thumb, it's much clearer on the palm view;
Finally got round to getting my self a new Shoei.
Just waiting for a dark visor and pinlock to arrive, and get a full red bull logo kit on the way, should be quite fun trying to put that on.
