There was none of this fuss about Guy Gibson and his faithful pet Nigger, when they did the same thing.

Re: In todays news...
From This Week today - some background:-
The ultra-nationalists controlling Netanyahu
When Benjamin Netanyahu returned to power in Israel, says Neri Zilber in the FT, he insisted his hands would be “firmly on the steering wheel”, despite the controversial presence of ultra-nationalists in his coalition government. Yet 14 months later, two key far-right figures once seen as “fringe extremists” – finance minister Bezalel Smotrich and national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir – wield more influence than ever. Netanyahu knows they have him over a barrel. Ben-Gvir has repeatedly threatened that any “reckless agreement” on prisoner swaps or ceasefires with Hamas will lead to the dissolution of the government. This would almost certainly end the Israeli PM’s rule, stripping him of the immunity he currently enjoys from a raft of corruption charges.
Smotrich and Ben-Gvir are both religious Zionists who live in settlements in the occupied West Bank, and they oppose not only the existence of a Palestinian state, but also the Palestinian Authority. That puts them squarely at odds with Joe Biden’s government, which has pushed for moves towards Palestinian statehood and wants the PA to play a role in any post-war order in Gaza. The two ultra-nationalists have their own plans for after the war: they led a conference in Jerusalem last month aimed at “resettling the Gaza strip”. Netanyahu has openly rejected that idea. But his failure to “call Ben-Gvir and Smotrich to order” reveals that if he wants to stay in power, it doesn’t really matter what he thinks. As the prominent Israeli commentator Ben Caspit put it recently: “The Israeli government is the Ben-Gvir government, at the expense of all of us.”

My cousin is still fucked because of this. He is one of only 157 to receive the initial interim payment for living and care costs.
The final figures are going to be huge. He's lost 3 years of his life, mostly paralysed. Gonna be 2 years before he can walk again
And apparently 1.5 million folk were affected !!!
He tells me lots, but can't break confidentiality.
