She only drinks sweetened almond milk and a prescription vitamin mix."
I'm fussy as well. Just beer and pizza for me :(

I know exactly how that kid feels. I'm what people often describe as a picky eater.

I'd rather die than eat veg. Tho' I can handle fried chips and and if forced maybe a roast potato.

I can't explain it, people really don't understand.

Please don't be offended ;) but ...

Sometimes these eating restrictions are related to issues such as autism, rather than just being 'picky'.

Or 'physical'.

Foal wouldn't - actually, couldn't - eat some foods until he had his tonsils removed.

I was a picky eater and wouldnt eat cabbage. After a number of warnings I found I had left over cold cabbage for tea. And my Mum bloody meant it, eat the cabbage or go hungry.

I eat cabbage today.

In between the bouts of bulimia, anguished cries for help to the therapist and sitting in the corner, rocking and weeping gently, whilst muttering, 'Don't make me eat the cabbage...please don't make me eat the cabbage...'

PAh, my mum used to lock me in the garage in the dark when I wouldn't eat the veg on my Sunday dinner. For most of my childhood Sundays were the most hated day of the week.

My childhood memory of cabbage is being forced fed the stuff at infants school. I have no memory of leaving the school one lunchtime but apparently I turned up at home, mum took me back then went to see the headmistress, who was the one doing the feeding. No more cabbage at school for me. I still won't eat it.

In fairness, my mum can't cook for shit. Neither can the M-I-L. It's a generational thing whereby 'cooking' was interpreted as cooking the hell out of everything until all juice, flavour and texture was annihilated.
Veg? Boil them 'til they're flavourless (M-I-L used to put her carrots on to simmer the same time the joint went in the oven).
Bit of meat? Grill or fry it 'til it's unrecognisable (My mum would grill liver until it was dry, tough and flavourless. It needed the custard-consistency Bisto to make it edible)

Therefore is it any wonder some kids grow up with food aversions? Put a plate of over-boiled cabbage in front of me and I'll politely decline, but a plate of sauteed red cabbage with apple, mustard, etc....winner. Just gotta get the basics right, and I suspect, he said with a condescending air, this is where crisp-kid has been failed by the parents. Serve shit, disinterested food to a kid, it will turn its nose up and demand the shit it likes, which invariably comes out of a packet.

I leave you the dispiriting words from my step-dad, said with a certain pride I should add, 'We don't have herbs or spices in this house'.

Feck all to do with you eating veg, your parents wanted to spend Sunday afternoon shagging.

And cabbage, slice it finely, salt it and a little cider vinegar, that's all that needs doing with it.

The thought of having a picky eating child fills me with dread, for the simple reason that both Mrs. D and I love food :D Not in the sense of being a fat knacker, but just by being foodies. Therfore being restricted in where we can go to eat by having fussy hand luggage is a definite no-go for us!

Therefore Baby Dazzle has always been given the same food as us* to eat at dinner time. Fortunately it seems to have worked, she'll eat basically anything. "Daddy's little dustbin" is her nickname sometimes

*Well nearly the same, probably a bit much to expect her to chow down on Vindaloo

Looks like it really was a bridge to nowhere - Northern Ireland to Scotland bridge plans scrapped
Plans to build a bridge or tunnel between Scotland and Northern Ireland have been ruled out due to forecasted costs and engineering challenges.

A study examining if such a project was possible is expected to advise against proceeding with any proposals when it is released next week.

The BBC understands the government will agree with the report's recommendation.

That tunnel was a bit of a farce from the start though wasn't it?
I'd imagine that someone will have syphoned off a bit of cash so they could do a feasibility study though eh?

Not just the crossing itself. Look at the proposed landfalls on both side and they're in the middle of nowhere. You'd need double the budget to build the motorways to get to anywhere once you'd crossed the bridge.

Sir Starmer lacks emotional intelligence and Rayer is a shouty northern single mum that lacks any intelligence.
At least Corbyn wasn't actually stupid, I'd vote for him all day long in contrast.
Tables have turned somewhat.

Before, Churchillian and Brave Boris against old Labour Marxist 'anti-Semite' Corbyn was an easy win.

Now it's Baffled, Bumbling Boris against Starmer and co. It's a different proposition - Starmer doesn't have as much baggage, he easily holds the PM to account in parliament every week (there's plenty of easy targets). Obviously the Tory media are trying to set Starmer up for attack - 'lack of emotional intelligence' sounds like they havent got much to play with to me.

It's interesting how your media of choice has caricatured them for you. :D

I thought jealousy was a bad thing and we should be happy? "millionaire knighted barrister and a shouty Manc bird" ?

I don't disagree with you in that I'm not a huge fan of Starmer - I just think it amusing how the Tory press is determined to twist itself in knots finding an angle on such a bland man.
