Boris Johnson's father Stanley says he has become a French national, telling a Belgium news website he wanted to keep "a link" with the EU after Brexit.
Mr Johnson, whose mother was French, told BFMTV getting citizenship was "something precious" and allowed him to "claim part of my identity".
Mr Johnson announced he would be seeking French citizenship in December 2020 - a month before the UK fully left the EU.
Speaking on Friday, he said he was "very happy", adding: "I count myself once again as a European Union member, that's very good."

Re: In todays news...
Brexit is apparently such a shower of shite that Bozo's own father has become a French citizen - Stanley Johnson becomes French to keep link with EU

Air passengers have been left panicked and confused after a "Welcome to Luton" sign appeared near Gatwick Airport.
The 60m (197ft) sign is visible on the approach to Gatwick - which is about 60 miles south of Luton.

Gene-edited tomatoes could soon be sold in England
I wonder if they've had the self-picking gene quietly added as well?Tomatoes that boost the body's vitamin D could be among the first gene-edited crops allowed on sale in England.
Researchers in Norwich created the plants by turning off a specific molecule in their genetic code.
A bill will be introduced on Wednesday to allow commercial growing of gene-edited crops in England.
The technique is currently not used for food production in the UK because of rules set by the EU but Brexit has enabled the UK to set its own rules.

The BBC are always airing stuff that could be considered 'not News'.
They don't normally apologise though so they're apologising for some other reason I think.

Sadly, not even shocking news.

Despite having the second-highest number of school shootings in the US, the state of Texas has actually relaxed gun laws over recent years, including allowing 'permitless' carrying last year. From what I've read, the shooter was a ""law-abiding citizen" when he legally bought 2 rifles and 375 rounds of ammo a few days ago. It's reported that he bought the rifles and ammo over a 3-day period, individually, but from the same store. But Texas Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican, rejected the calls for gun control. He said restricting the rights of "law-abiding citizens... doesn't work. It's not effective. It doesn't prevent crime."

I had to stop reading the news this morning. I was getting Baby D ready to go to school, the sudden thought the little children like her could be (have been!) gunned down it what should be the safest of all environments. It was to much for me, I don't mind saying
I have no words really, other than profound gratitude it's not something I (hopefully!) have to deal with. Yes there have been similar occurrences in the UK, but at least our politicians and public for once had the good sense to make the changes necessary to stop it happening again (one more time - hopefully). I have no hope the same thing will happen in the US.

Sums it up nicely:
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

I was a vociferous opponent of tighter rules in the UK and was significantly pissed off when they banned my pistols. I agreed with Ted Cruz, punishing the law abiding won't stop law breaking. However things in the US have now become so insane that something has to change. After reading about the recent 12 yo kid who stabbed a girl I am beginning to think we in the UK may have done the right thing, the yoof of today cannot be trusted around weapons.
