We are following to the letter because I'm sheilding, doesn't help that both my wife and daughter worki in schools. I was sleeping in the spare room when my wife was with kids regularly. Our next door neighbours both in their 70s, had people round fairly regularly sitting out in the garden in the summer and their family round regularly. Found out yesterday that they both had Covid over Xmas. They had been for a walk with a friend and son who later tested posativeand passed it on to them.

Yeah, I remember Trump saying it was all under control and nothing to worry about. How did that go?

I quickly skimmed through it. I suspect the reason to push this now is to ensure that an agenda for change is established before post pandemic self-satisfaction sets in with the various stakeholders reverting to pre-pandemic resistance to change. Secretary of State?
Giving more power to a politician will be a recipe for disaster I think.

I thought the plan was to Brexit the NHS away by letting the Americans rape it to death with outrageously overpriced drugs.Docca wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 5:23 pm Perhaps not worthy of its own thread, but this is the leaked white paper setting out reform in the NHS. Well if we take the same approach they did during Trumps term: Anything good during Jobamala's term is because of Trump & anything bad is because of Beijing Biden.... therefore the current declining numbers etc is thanks to Trump & the complete clusterfuck of vaccine distribution is Biden's fault.

Re: Covid restrictions - are you adhering or not?
Using multiple names for the same people doesn't help
"Jobamala" is Joe Biden and Kamala Harris...president and VP respectively.
But then "Beijing Biden" is just Joe on 'is own. Presumably ZX81 Spectrum couldn't think of a way of connecting Harris' name to China somehow.
Incidentally, I think "Kamala" is a lovely name. Shame I don't have any more children in the works

My own forenames are Gaelic, Jewish and Frankish in origin. Baby D's are ultimately Latin, Old French and Danish.
I had to look all that up by the way, except for the Danish bit 'cause that's intentional

Mine are Scottish and Welsh, with a probably northern english surname.
The former was useful when I moved to Scotland. If I moved to Wales, shudder, I'd drop the first name and use my second.

And Kamala has a certain elan ring to it.
And no, I didn't know it's translated to Lotus before I looked it up either.

If you have a name that sounds like camel, that won't be necessary...Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 9:15 amI'm sure school kids in the mid 2030s will have a list of 2020's US Vice Presidents immediately to handslowsider wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 9:12 amTough on the kid when they reached school age and got the hump from the pisstakingMr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 8:34 am

I thought it was "Kam-el-Ah" when I read it too, but it's "Calm-eh-Laa".
Moot point, 'cause a) I'm probably not going to have a child named Kamala and b) perhaps more importantly, teenagers will take the piss whatever you do
