Train place I'd say about half were wearing masks but of those almost half had them around their chins? Not sure I understand this.

Duxford I'd say 2/3rds in masks worn properly.

I wore a mask inside as from what I've read it can help others and I don't find it that bad. What did I think of the non mask wearers? Nothing really their choice and they don't need to so that's fine with me.
*IF* you have tested positive... in which case, aren't you supposed to quarantine?

What planet are you from? I'm double jabbed and to the best of my knowledge covid free as of last Fri when I did my last test. However I may have it and not know and so to be helpful to others I'll take the precaution of wearing a mask.

You've made your position clear on masks and I quote

However you seem to have a thing about people choosing to wear one, but that's your problem not mine

I'd have to struggle to give even less of a fuck about others wearing a mask... especially the ones who say "I'm going to wear mine every day from now on" They'd probably wear leg irons in case they suddenly went down with polio.
According to *science* (CDC, this week), the chances of someone who is vaccinated, tests positive AND passes it on to someone who isn't vaccinated is so minuscule that the CDC can't even come up with actual numbers, but millions to one was mentioned.

It would be interesting to know the age distribution of infectees.

Does it matter if people aren't going into hospital or dying in large numbers, being vaccinated doesn't stop you catching it, it's supposed to prevent you being badly effected by it because your body knows how to react to the infection.

Well my point was, according to his CDC stuff it's one in a million if people are vaccinated for them to pass it on. Yet despite the fact in the UK we have a high number vaccinated, we're still getting 20,000 cases per day... so the 1 in a million clearly isn't the case or even remotely possible to be correct. If it were, we'd have very few cases.

What is the basis of this figure of 20,000 cases a day?

How many people are being tested daily? Is this number an extrapolation?

What test is being used? I understand that the PCR test is unreliable so is there another, more accurate test that is being used?

How many of the 20,000 cases a day are asymptomatic; how many require hospitalisation; how many result in death from Covid itself?

Why is Turkey still on the red list?

I know, I know, so many questions and you don't have to answer them weeksy. However, just quoting 20,000 cases a day when they could well be the same cases counted more than once etc doesn't mean an awful lot to me. I think it can/could be alarming for some people but might not, in reality be bad.

I have severely diminished lung function from a bout of pneumonia. Sometimes I get out of breath just making a sandwich or standing at the sink doing washing up. That's why I no longer do paint prep that requires a face mask to prevent breathing body filler dust etc.

They're saying (yesterday) that unvaccinated people need to spend around 10-15 minutes with someone who is contagious while neither of them is wearing a mask. So for someone who is unvaccinated they have to find someone who's contagious, isn't wearing a mask, is vaccinated & spend 10-15 minutes in their company. That night happen in a bar, but it isn't going to happen in a shop... but we already know that transmission among customers in bars was vastly overstated.
So first we have to remove the 40% who aren't vaccinated from the pool.
Then remove everyone who is wearing a mask.
Everyone who is vaccinated & doesn't have Covid
Everyone you spend fewer than 10-15 minutes with.
So they'd have to find someone among those who are left who are both vaccinated & asymptomatic.
The chances of you finding that person are astronomical.

Califailure is STILL counting everyone who ever had it as STILL having it. According to the State we have some 6m cases & the others died. They actually mentioned the total just yesterday. They never talk about the fact that the vast majority of people are over it in 10 days. Friend of mine in Az caught it & has been quarantined for 6 days. Said his missus is treating him like a leper.

So, how are 20,000 per day in the UK testing positive? That's assuming it's not the same 20,000 per day lol.

We're being better with masks than UK, a higher level of vaccination but we still have 150,000 new cases per week? How? Using your info that's physically impossible.

However, it's still happening?

Media just said (like 30 minutes ago) that 25% of the new cases are among the vaccinated... However, they also said that among those it breaks down like this:
J&J: 0.27%
Pfizer: 0.15%
Moderna: 0.09%

So that's a total of 0.51%, where the fuck are the other 99.49% of the 25% coming from & what were they vaccinated with? Kinda early in the morning here & I'm having a bit of difficulty working out just WTF they are claiming.

Because the vaccines don't stop you getting infected, they reduce the severity of the symptoms of the infection when you are infected.

No clue. Obviously the case over here is that the media are outright fucking lying as proved by anyone who can operate a calculator. Are your numbers coming from the BBC or the NHS.. or from the NHS via the BBC.. or another source?

Odd that your numbers are significantly higher than ours, yet the UK is wide open (according to the BBC)
