You know, the fact you bought a house doesn't make you better than them.... many of them may own properties there too.
Of course they are equal. I've been enjoying the quiet though.

As an aside, most home owners come for the winter.
Most of the car hire companies sold most of their cars as no tourists for a year.

Just been looking to get a car for B-I-L for August. All booked out. Any spare for the odd day are 90€.

That was a week's price normally.
Yup BIL rather than having 2 cars often hires out of season as he can haggle say a Fiesta for 100E a month. Recently he's getting prices of 7-900E a week

The masks I can live with, but I'll be buggered if I'm walking about with a butt plug in :silent: :wtf: ;

Today's missive from the CDC states they recommend masks in "areas that the CDC deems substantial or high transmission, the agency also recommends fully vaccinated people wear masks in public, indoor settings "to help prevent the spread of the delta variants and protect others."

So, not a mandate & I don't think an infection rate of 0.0025% falls under "substantial or high transmission".

Based upon that above, you'll wear your mask today?
So when I posted that yesterday, I was in full compliance with CDC mask mandates etc. Apparently this seems to annoy you for some reason?

Also: as mentioned (more than once) I'm exempted from wearing a mask under at least three of the dozen or so CDC exemptions from wearing one at ANY time.

As for wearing one today: Nope, not a fucking chance will I be wearing one in the house, or in the pool etc. I'm sure the dog won't mind.
Do you actually find it difficult to wear a mask though? Or are you just very happy that your condition/s exempt you?

I recall a guy in a bar on Christmas eve

"where's your mask?"
" I don't have to wear one, I have athsma "

You'll notice he didn't say "I can't wear one/ I'm unable to wear one" he said "I don't have to" !!

Bizarrely after being harassed, said individual left the pub, came back in two minutes later wearing a mask, walked to his table and sat down. He didn't die or even seem slightly out of breath after his fearless endeavour ??

Just to play Devil's advocate: now that our glorious leaders have decreed that masks are not mandatory, there is an argument that people complaining about those people choosing not wearing them should avoid going out if they're so worried about catching anything....

I feel that a small, vocal minority will be happy to play the victim card ad infinitum.

I don't give a flying fuck what anyone thinks or says, there's no arguments here. I don't also give a fuck what others do, or don't do....

I wear it because i feel it's the right thing to do, for me.... for others... just because.

If someone tells me in public i shouldn't be wearing a mask or going outside, they'll be getting told to fuck off in no uncertain terms.

Just flipping that around, would you tell somebody to wear a mask, say, in a supermarket or restaurant?

No, because the rules are that they don't have to. When the rules were that they had to, then sure, i'd mention it.

I went to a kids train set play place yesterday and then Duxford.

Train place I'd say about half were wearing masks but of those almost half had them around their chins? Not sure I understand this.

Duxford I'd say 2/3rds in masks worn properly.

I wore a mask inside as from what I've read it can help others and I don't find it that bad. What did I think of the non mask wearers? Nothing really their choice and they don't need to so that's fine with me.

I found myself without a mask outside Sainsbury's the other day. Looked to the customer service to see if they might have some but nobody to be seen. With wild abandon I proceeded to pick up a few bits, sans masque, feeling quite the rogue. I did get shot a look and a tut by somebody as I shopped, but, well, tough titties, love.

Very kind.

Quite in keeping with my 'Keep calm and carry on' attitude. Unlike the super-nervous, Coronanoia sufferers who will blight our daily lives for years to come. Mark my words.

If you're worried about other people not wearing a mask, why not wear two, one to protect yourself and another to protect you from other people?

Oh, I would have done the same if, in my forgetful years, I'd forgotten to have a mask with me.
I probably wouldn't go trolling for hero points about it though.

You seem rather keen to demonise others who don't agree with your opinion on covid measures. Not like you normally and more what I'd expect from US presidents or woke campaigners.

I have severely diminished lung function from a bout of pneumonia. Sometimes I get out of breath just making a sandwich or standing at the sink doing washing up. That's why I no longer do paint prep that requires a face mask to prevent breathing body filler dust etc.
My idiot doctor who never listens to a fucking word I say keeps trying to put me on a med that I'm deathly allergic to...I literally have to remind him EVERY time I see him.
