Maybe the girl in question had dug a tunnel and then rigged up a lookalike dummy in the window with pre-recorded conversation on C90 cassette to fool passers by, a la Home Alone.

Re: Covid restrictions - are you adhering or not?
My S-I-L was in 10-day quarantine and took to walking the dog at 5a:m in the morning. Of course she was spotted and outed.
I know "you shouldn't" and that all sorts of unexpected things can feasibly happen if you're out which presumably wouldn't happen if at home. But, we've been told all along "use your common sense".
Personally I'm doing the bare minimum now which basically involves not getting fined and not getting shouted at by rellies whose idea of safe is safer than I can be arsed with.

Meh. I had to self-isolate on my return from Italy last year. My view was that common sense should apply, so my early morning and evening dog walks continued, in the woods where avoiding people is quite easy. I didn't go shopping, nor to a mosh pit and licking random strangers was put on hold for the duration of it. I don't think I killed anyone.

Instead of 'Hands, Face, Space, Knees and Toes', or whatever the fuck it is these days, Boris should simply say, 'Stop acting like a cunt and use a bit of common'.
Most people would get that.

If you lead by example you get accused of virtue signalling anyway.

I had to go on a beer run to Morrisons yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see the majority of customers still wearing masks and distancing.

Re: Covid restrictions - are you adhering or not?
The tourists are coming
Thanks to LANCELOT DIGITAL
About thirty flights will arrive this Tuesday at César Manrique Airport
Little by little, the activity begins to come alive at the César Manrique Airport in Lanzarote. In fact, about thirty flights were scheduled for this Tuesday, a third of which are of British origin.
The president of the Lanzarote Tourism Federation, Susana Pérez, had already announced that the opening of the British and Irish market, which took place this past Monday, has already begun to be noticed, and tourist reservations have increased by 25%.
From that same Monday, Easyjet and British Airways connectivity was restored and Jet2 started operating again.
This Tuesday the arrival of national flights from Barcelona, Bilbao, three from Madrid, one from Asturias, one from Malaga and another from Seville is scheduled; In addition, from England, two flights will arrive from Nottingham, one from Bristol, two from London, one from Leeds, one from Birmingham, another from Newcastle and one from Manchester.
Three flights will arrive from Ireland from Dublin and one from Belfast.
From Germany there will be flights from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Eindhoven, Münster and Hamburg.
In addition, flights from Prague, Paris, Amsterdam, Bordeaux, Brussels and Milan are scheduled to arrive.
In any case, and despite the evident increase in the number of seats, this does not mean that the flights arrive full on the island. In this sense, the occupation still does not exceed sixty percent of the places. In all probability, and if the pandemic does not make things take a new unexpected turn, the data will improve as the summer progresses and in August the occupation will be higher.

You know, the fact you bought a house doesn't make you better than them.... many of them may own properties there too.

Of course they are equal. I've been enjoying the quiet though.
As an aside, most home owners come for the winter.

That's fair enough, but it's like moving to castle donington and complaining the noise from the track irritates you. You moved to a tourist destination island.

My tongue was firmly in my cheek. Got lots of family and friends coming in next few months. And I'll see lots of regular guests that I've got to know well.weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 2:20 pmThat's fair enough, but it's like moving to castle donington and complaining the noise from the track irritates you. But the quiet has been nice

When Covid dies down a bit (please), just make up a new Lanzarote virus and stick fake stuff up all over facebook and millions will believe you and not come over. Bobs got your aunts fanny or something.

Day three of the reinstated "requirement" to wear a mask inside shops & bars etc... & so far not a single place I've been to is complying.
