TBF there were three people on the flight, all seated in the back row. For trimming apparently.
Don't take it personally, Chubby. ;)
I didn't, neither did I the first time many years ago I was asked. That was by the pilot who asked me to sit at the front of a near empty plane for the same reason. 'Tis the way when you fly on puddle jumpers.

Must admit I've used the App a lot, pretty much every shop/pub/restaurant I've been in has the QR code up and good luck getting in Hertford library without being seen to have done it!

But if all restrictions are lifted on the 19th and the government is pretty much going to give up on controlling covid I'm not sure I see the point anymore. Esp as a month later they are saying double jabbed don't need to isolate anymore. I'm double jabbed now so common sense says nothing will change for me between now and then.

Not that it matters much as apart from going on Hol in Aug (I hope) I don't go to many places anyway. In fact I've not really found the last few weeks a drag at all really.

Apart from having to wear a mask until i've sat down in a restaurant, then no... Nothing. It's completely irrelevant to me. I expect i'll even wear a mask for a longer time than most when it comes to close contact.... but it's not inconveniencing me in any way.

He whispered it, with a mask on, so you couldn't even see his lips move.

But i know he said it, coz Greenie told me he did.

Yup same. For the sake of sticking a mask on for a few mins I'll carry on. Same in shops etc.

Sooo - if the double jabbed won't have to quarantine soon, when do you think (piece of string question!) that visitors from France that are double jabbed won't have to quarantine? More to the point, won't have to pay for 2 & 8 day tests (that don't seem to turn up or you have to go to a pick up point to get them) when you are only planning to stay for 48 hours and only see family??!! :D :D :D

I'd do some proper looking before booking/spending money. But it does seem the UK government is giving up with the controlling thing. I'd be more worried about getting Frog side afterwards if we are looking at 100k cases a day.

Looks like we might find out this afternoon!

Although, apparently there are a couple of questions i have that might throw a spanner in the works (for you and I anyway) -
- will the relaxed travel conditions for double-jabbers only apply to those jabbed in the UK?
- is France also going to relax the travel rules somewhat? (I'm not quite so bothered about the return journey)
- how quickly will the picture change given that it's an absolute free-for-all regarding social distancing in the UK?

If it does open up, I'll be on one of the first flights out, try and get in and out before it all kicks off again. Because it will, big time.

I suspect we'll all be looking at high case rates before long.

I'm not booking anything till about 2 days before I go! Long enough to get a test here to travel!! LOL It's my sisters birthday in September and as it's a big one I'd really like to go. But if I can't, it'll just be something else she'll hold against me forever, so no dramas!!

Yeah think you are right Germany were talking about lifting restrictions soonish and most of Europe are behind us by a month or 2 with the Delta variant so you'd expect Euro numbers to go up a lot as well. UK just going earlier so looks like we are the canary  In 2-3 months we'll either have been ahead of the curve or absolutely fucked :hmmm:

SIL is coming over from Spain and was saying they've just gone back into level 2 with fast rising cases.

Personally, I'm enjoying the quiet life. But I know the island does need the tourism income. Maybe just ban kids and cyclists :banana-dance:
