Recommended hard drive for gaming PC

Post by v8-powered »

The drive in my lads PC has just failed, looking for 1TB+ but want something reliable. Already runs a SSD for the OS..

What's good these days?

I've just got round to cleaning the '550W' PSU that came with my 12 year old Cooler Master case and found two of the CapXon capacitors have leaked. I remember hearing on two occasions a loud 'clap' a few years ago and wondering what it was.

I've changed them out with some scrap parts for now, from a 20 year old Toyota stereo I replaced which was rather attached to a CD. :D

But whilst on the lookout for a new one I remembered this computer company that prides itself on reliability:

I've had a budget SanDisk SSD for 5 years so far with no problems. When I was looking for a graphics card they mentioned they had 0 failures of an EVGA GTX 950, so I happily bought a used one.

Samsung SATA SSD's Amazing Reliability

What is the most reliable hardware in our Puget Systems workstations?

Thanks.

Think his SSD is a Samsung. Replaced his other drive now with a Seagate hybrid drive, a Firecuda. Supposed to be the best for gaming so time will tell.....
