What is your super-power

Post by Demannu »

Pretty sure we all have something that we absolutely excel at.
Go on, blow your own trumpet ( if you're in a brass band, even better), tell us what you're really good at!
I'll put my hand up and say I'm a bodger of the highest calibre
Not a Frank Spencer, more an entire A team. If one of the locals breaks something, they usually come round and ask me if it can be fixed. This weekend we've had 2 self propelled mowers round for repair. Had to make a Woodruff key for 1 and repair a cable in an ingenious way for the other.
The wine cabinet is looking very healthy again.

I guess locally I'm the cool MTB dad, the one who takes the lads down the harder runs other parents won't do.

I can usually be relied on to make a totally inappropriate comment at exactly the wrong moment. Sometimes I even stun myself.

My FiL has that ability as did my Nan, in fact she would walk up to the Elephant-in-the-Room and submit it to the third degree.

My superpower is the ability to make a simple 5 minute DIY job last all day, with a couple of trips to the DIY store for parts/tools (that I then find I had in the other shed) before succumbing to the inevitable and buying a new one off the internet at about 11pm after admitting defeat.

Yep, me too.

But my real superpower is the ability to really really piss off thousands of road users at will. I can shut motorways!!! No, really, it’s part of my job!!

I can do that too. Even after reading up on the job, watching YT vids and buying stuff I think I will need, the job still expands to fit the available time, plus an extra day.

I'm pretty good at getting things going / fixing problems with what I can find laying around !

Highlights including using a stick I found on the floor to open a locked car (without causing any damage)

Using sticky wheel weights to help guide a sprocket.

NB My fixes are NOT permanent, but they will last until you can get the correct parts !
