Re: Winter storage
I'm much like most people. Clean the bike, dry it, remove battery (no leccy in my garage) and charge it once a month or so. Tank brimmed with E5 super. That's about it.

Re: Devitt MCN London Motorcycle Show
I went to the Excel one back in 2017. There were very few manufacturers and loads of stands selling cheap gear. It felt a bit like a jumble sale with a few nice bikes near the door.
£26.50 to get in? They're havin' a fackin' larf. :o
That's the crux of it I think. Maybe everything has ...

Re: Devitt MCN London Motorcycle Show
I last went to this in about 2013 I think and found it very underwhelming so not been back. They bought back Ally Pally as a one off a few years back and it was OK but they all seem to be missing something they had. Could be me as much as the events that have changed. The London one I felt like I ...

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
I came to the conclusion that the reason I hadn’t ridden the bike for a while wasn’t because of the foul weather but because I’d cleaned the bike and was being precious. So it’s manky again. Enjoyed the ride tho.
90% of the reason I don't ride in winter is that, only 10% due to the actual ...

Re: Quality control
Surprised about Furygan stuff being faulty. My gloves are......omg.....9 years old. Been crashed in at 100+ and still in one piece with no fraying. Bit disappointed that the logo is beginning to wear off one of the fingers!
Quite. My old pair of gloves are Furygan, 6-7 years old and still going ...

I'd already made my mind up by the time I got home from SBS that I wasn't going to keep the 3rd jacket as I'd lost faith in it. Forgot to call them to cancel over the Xmas period and they posted it the Monday after. Didn't even open the box till the day I took it back. It was perfect stitching wise ...

I remember years ago having a sit on one, they are a big ol unit. A lighter bike should hopefully be the ticket.Ssray wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2025 7:26 pm Now up for sale in the classifieds.

Re: Himalayan 650/750
I just run mine (690) in by using what KTM put in it for 600 miles riding it pretty much normally but no sustained high revs or low end lugging. In the 15k miles I did it used to use between 500-750ml in the 3k miles I'd do between services. Which to be fair I didn't think was too bad. Thing is a ...

Re: Quality control
I bought a Merlin jacket that lasted a couple of months before the main zip went.
I should have returned it but the replacement would have had the same shite zip so I got a local leather repairer to fit a decent quality zip instead
Overall quality is pretty shit, velcro parting from the cuffs ...

Re: Quality control
In general we don't complain enough to the right people. I include myself when I ask,how often have we bought bike gear and we are happy to tell other riders it's rubbish, but we can't be bothered to take it back to the shop. This is how manufacturers get away with continuing to punt out poor ...

It's mid priced. This jacket was £350 which is about what most of their stuff is. Not owned anything by them but hoping it's way above Akito

Not having much luck with bike kit this year. Ordered 3 pairs of the same model of Furygan gloves in the summer and all 3 had some issue. Ended up buying Halvarssons gloves. Ordered an R&G rad guard and that had a bent bracket. This week noticed a sale on a Merlin laminate jacket that's AA rated and ...

Hoping for a full seasons riding weather. Last 2 years have been pony, this year it didn't get decent till June!
Plans wise, similar to last year but more of it. Plan to ride down to the south/south west coast again. Possibly to the northern wastes if I get an invite.
Parts wise in spring I'm ...

Tried Guinness here and it tastes like shit. When I was in Ireland the last couple of times I got the old 'but its different here' waffle to the point people bought me pints of it. And it's still shit. Maybe it's a different tasting shit I dunno, but shit all the same.
