Re: What have you done today thread?

Up early enough to sort breakfast and coffee for the wife. Then out to do some shopping for my daughter. Back home, emails and getting ready for Sunday's service. Then down to Maidstone, daughter to clinic. Back home, then I went to the hospital on the bike (free parking and quicker) and said prayer...

Re: I'm getting too old for this crap...

Just some fellows out for a gentle ride in glorious weather. Nothing better than just enjoying the scenery, not becoming part of the scenery due to speed and reckless overtaking of vehicles (not saying you did that!).

Re: Friday thread, the 'still got the lurgy' one

Friday: Son to work then celebrated at the School Eucharist, handed out awards as Governor and signed some school applications. Headed home to check on the work being done to the church flat roof. I cleared one of the drains out, totally blocked by leaves etc... The roofer found another hole and sea...

Re: Wot yu playin? The gaming thread

I am still stuck on Unreal Tournament... been decades since I've looked at PC games. Did play Mario Kart with the kids on Nintendo platforms, but my son mainly uses Steam for his games.

Re: What have you done today thread?

Quieter day today. Drove the wife to train station, son to work, did a small shop then went to the school to take the collective worship. Then did a bit of reading, drove daughter to Maidstone for her session, then back home and out again to my old church to help them with an few IT issues and hando...

Re: Depression

I am dealing with a couple of people going through depression, anxiety and thoughts of self harm/suicide. One of the biggest things is to help them be referred to decent services who will actually listen to them and help them. I am not an expert in these issues, I can listen and pray, but being refe...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Car booked in for tomorrow for a new window regulator. Dropped down this morning and jammed. At least the mechanic could haul it back up and I can use the car today. Off to take a service now and carry on with the Bible Study series. Meetings this afternoon and then hopefully a quieter evening.

Fresh headstock bearings, less than 2k on them, also fresh fork oil as well. Got all that serviced when I had new front tyre put on, it made sense at the time. All bearings have been replaced/lubed etc...

Re: The Triumph

Had some fun rides into Rochester and back and on the local roads. Bike feels so much better. It is well worth getting new shock by the feel of it! Who would have thought that! Any how, I am still enjoying the bike, I need to have a look at doing some minor cleaning and detailing, but nothing major....

Re: What have you done today thread?

This morning I had a coffee morning at one of my churches. Helped someone with sorting 28 days of accommodation, they were in danger of being made homeless. Another family have to move by 24th Sept as they are being evicted, the husband walked out on them taking all the furniture and anything of val...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Yesterday now. Hit road debris, tyre went "pop". Managed to pull over safely after 200 yards. Then changed it with the full size spare in less than 20 minutes. What was nice was people stopped and asked if we were okay and needed help etc... Then went on to Lavenham and had a brilliant day...

Re: Depression

Two weeks away on holiday, lots of walks and getting out with the daughter. She had massive issues with eating in public, so had to hide and so on, but we managed to get through the time. She has been able to get out each day for a considerable amount of walking (heck, I lost weight, so it was a lot...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Not quite today, but rather the whole weekend. Friday, a wedding for a couple with four children. They have wanted to be married but could never quite get there, but they have now! A lovely joyful wedding with friends and family present and enjoying the occasion. Saturday I had a couple of pastoral ...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Two end of year school services. Then donned the bike jacket/helmet and rode to the school for the Governors end of year barbeque and signed lots of shirts for students. Spoke with a teacher whose husband is leaving her, she is heart broken. Ate 4 wonderful potato samosas! Need to track down where t...

Re: Depression

Been away from this for a while. My daughter has been through the mill, bounced from therapist to clinic to A&E to nearly being sectioned and now back to the clinic, and this time the right one. She is anorexic, autistic and depressive. But she was referred to the food disorder clinic, so I've b...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Collective worship at my Church school at 9am. Had a lovely time with the students. Headed home to take daughter for blood test, for her to be told they don't do "those tests" there, so she has to go back to the referring clinic some 25 miles away... Then I went out to the Hoo Peninsula an...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Today, up fairly early, saw red in the election results, took son to work, then headed into the school for the Eucharist service there. Out to Rochester HMP YOI to have a look at how they can do worship with their IT system there. Was able to suggest a couple of work arounds (tight firewall policy) ...

Up late at 7am. Breakfast. Prayers, then walked the dog. Out to do the shopping (friends over tomorrow after the services). Then cleaning up the house.... lots of cleaning!! Going our to walk the hound later on this afternoon, when things are a bit cooler. Rather warm at the moment. I'll get the hat...
