Re: interesting bikes found randomly..

Even something like a W800 weighs 216kg, why? They're pretty minimal. Do they make the pistons out of lead?

Re: VFR Pipe & slippers?

Picked it up this morning, incredible condition for a 25 y/o bike. It's plenty fast enough, surprisingly nimble and just completely competent at everything, I even like the linked brakes. OK It's not the 'experience' I get from bikes 'with character' but that's not what it's for. Can't post pics fro...

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little

... and then finding out he hates bikes (really does NOT like them) and doesn't ski?? ... Has he said you should get rid of the bike, its the bike or me? If he likes you the bike wont be an obstacle and if he does says its the bike or me, well he's only going to be more demanding later so maybe he'...

Re: Are common interests/ages important?

I'm only 3 years older than my wife we don't really have common interests but we've grown together over the 37 years we've been married so now we have developed common things we like, telepathy, share the same weirdness and neuroses. Even when you think there's not a lot in common you grow into each...

Luxury, I remember when all we had were 5bhp on FS1Es and Bantams and we were the fast kids compared to poor buggers on SS50s. Try telling that to kids today...

Re: Biker Bingo

I'll add: Tried multiple times to do a bump start (pushing the bike back up the hill each time) before realising it works better if you turn the ignition on. Done that, threw the bike away in temper, kicked it splitting the recently recovered seat (I needed to be somewhere). Then noticed the...

#21 Towed a bike with another bike. When I was 17, my dad towed me on my GT185 behind his car for 2 miles. He had sense to "tie" the rope under my right hand on throttle When I was 17 my Dad towed me on my 175 Bantam ( useless brakes ) behind his Reliant van (fibre glass body, you can see...

Re: VFR Pipe & slippers?

2500, its 99 but given the condition I thought that was ok. Two owners, service history and done less than 1000 miles per year most of its life. Very tidy, no broken plastics, stainless exhaust
