Re: Err… been a while.
So an update on this and I’ll start posting pictures again soon. Found a fab paint shop, so that is sorted. Lost a few bits I need so they are on order. All I need to do really is bolt in a few bits, change the oil and filters, ride it for an MOT and I’m done. Probably get new tyres put on it. Bit s...

Re: Diesel heaters for a cold garage.
Decided to try the diesel heater. Will install it outside in steel box, drilling holes to get air in will be fun. Out of interest, which one did you go for? Our workshop is twice the size you've quoted, and we were thinking about putting a wood burner in, but this might be a better plan... The chea...

Re: Diesel heaters for a cold garage.
They heat a garage very well. I've an all in one unit in the garage at the moment and its drying it out nicely. It's the second one I've used, the other is in the van, and they've proved to be very reliable. I just run it on diesel and nothing else. How do you pipe your exhaust out? Is it installed...

Tested a T6 today. Was nice. You were all right.
Testing a Hilux tomorrow. Plenty of room for bikes. Saw a guy with four Surons in one today. Not as practical in terms of a boot space, but I could get one of those boxes.

Re: What’s say the masses? I need a new car.
Rear seats down I can easily get two bikes in a Disco. But I can’t get luxury travel in a van.

Re: What’s say the masses? I need a new car.
Disco insurance quotes are beyond silly. From “no chance” to “you’re having a laugh”. Seems they get stolen every 2 seconds. Volvo was boring. Not doing that. Really stuck. Want the Disco but £500 more to insure that than a Porsche… seems a bit silly. And they were honest and said it’ll go up anothe...

Re: Diesel heaters for a cold garage.
50mm Kingspan on the walls is good. What about the roof insulation? Heat rises and all that... A raised floor would help, especially if you can incorporate insulation. There is a particular grade of extruded polystyrene (XPS) that can withstand heavy loads and is waterproof: https://www.insulations...

Re: Diesel heaters for a cold garage.
The Chinese ones seem to get reasoable reviews on another forum I'm on. The actual output is less than that stated and don't muck about with the exhaust seems to be the consensus. Could you fit a secondhand domestic central heating boiler? Detached. No option to run gas. Needs an off grid solution....

Re: Diesel heaters for a cold garage.
My garage is cold. It’s a breeze block plus brick construction, insulated and plasterboard. What thickness of insulation and on what surfaces? What is the floor construction? If it's concrete, is there insulation in the slab? 50mm of insulation (Kingspan) on the internal walls behind the plaster. C...

Diesel heaters for a cold garage.
My garage is cold. It’s a breeze block plus brick construction, insulated and plasterboard. And it’s cold. I don’t use it in the colder months, hotter months it is my office. I need to make that all year long - so it must be heated. Electric heating cost a fortune to run, solar won’t heat it. To ins...

Re: What’s say the masses? I need a new car.
Have test drives booked for a Disco, Volvo, have driven a T6 (lovely van but too much van). Also drive a Q7 but it’s too nice for what I want. I want to be able to drive and park anywhere. Don’t want low profile tyres with big expensive wheels.

I never bought the bike in the end, as my London commute became a Denmark commute. But looking to do it in the spring.

What’s say the masses? I need a new car.
Hello everyone, long time no typing. I’m in a quandary and I know you all will have opinions and all my physical pals are odd sorts who just lease electric cars - pretty much everyone I know has a Tesla. I won a silly car (Cayman 981) which I love however I need to change it out for something much m...

Sometimes I may use it on long walks.Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 7:56 pm If size and weight isn't a problem (I assume the roof tent is for a vehicle) why go for a lightweight, small bottle burner?

Camping cooking and coffee
Hi all. I don’t camp. Never been into it. But with kids wanting adventure here we are. Buying a roof tent. Fun. Cooking though, I can get excited by. But there are so many options for gear I’m lost. I need: A way to boil water quickly so I can make coffee. This will get used more than anything else,...

Heated clothing
Being older now and going back to commuting by bike (bring it on) I’m thinking about heated gear.
Do I need Keis or will any machine washable waistcoat do? I assume none like being rained on. What do the masses say?

Re: Sena smh5 Bluetooth headset
Used my SM5 in storms. Never an issue. Had it for years, rode six days a week for 2-3 hours year round. Snow, wind. Hale, rain etc not an issue.
