Re: Car recommendations
BMW 135 if you don't need it to be very big (will fit four average size adults quite comfortably) 10k buys you a very tidy one and £500 gives you 350bhp+ and 550ft/lb+ if you want it - they are a reasonably fun and capable 300bhp & 400ft/lb ish as standard.

Bit of a strange habit you have going to see family and looking down the back of their fridge freezer.
Do you do that wherever you visit?

Apply more throttle on roundabouts and steer with the rear to even things up wherever possible. Ya fanny.

Re: Your iconic 'car of my youth' to buy now...
I had a 2002 Saxo VTR (the 8v not the 16v VTS). 109bhp in a car made of recycled kitkat wrappers. It went quite well. I had to drive it with both knees level with the top of the steering wheel. I had the VTR as well. Here’s a before and after 👀 https://i.ibb.co/wsD35w4/IMG-2628.jpg https://i.ibb.co...

Re: 2024 Forum extravaganza ?
Anything planned for 26/27 July? I'm guessing not. Not complaining btw. :) Don't know if any others are going from here but Calne Bike Meet is still happening on the Saturday. I'll be about so if anyone does make it, ping me a message. Looking less likely for me, F-I-L in hospital (nothing urgent) ...

Re: Your iconic 'car of my youth' to buy now...
Of the cars I owned in my youth, a MK1 XR2 and a Triumph Stag stand out because they were both absolute hoots to drive. The one's I had were shitboxes though; the Stag didn't work in the rain and was my only transport so I only kept it for six weeks and the XR2 was so rusty when I took it to a welde...

Calne bike meet 27th July (Wiltshire)
Biggest free bike meet in Europe!
Anyone coming to it? I may be able to provide secure bike parking and a tent pitch (or maybe even a spare room if you know me)

I don't get involved with the hope tax.
But if I did and won £200m, I'd start my own charity / charities to keep me busy and doing good / keep me out of too much mischief.. while swanning it up on my private estate, obviously.
