Re: Retro kit

I reckon that's not a bad look. 👍 Always good to get the seal of approval from someone who wears the bumming hat. DMD goggles are good. Do you wear glasses, I'm looking at the Scott or Leaat 4.5 Paths at the minute. I've got some terrible hipster photos, one with me in a chequered shirt and with a ...

Re: Retro kit

I reckon that's not a bad look. I thought I'd cracked it on my TDR, I had Diesel jeans, oxblood Loake brogue boots, blue Belstaff Ariel and an Ex-Zero Equation Shoei helmet. I really thought I looked a picture of cool retro, but I caught a glimpse of myself in a shop window and I just looked a twat ...

Re: Are Trump protests finished?

There is a story on the BBC news that Biden really dislikes Facebook and is probably going to clip their wings soon.

The more I read about him the more I actually like him.

Oh and fwiw, zero side effects from sinopharm vaccine.
Dunno if it’s done any good but (so far touch wood, etc) it’s done me no harm.

My wife was going on about vitamin D, saying she’s going to make sure she gets enough - my daughter was laughing, apparently it’s slang for dick.

Re: Beware, EU purchases. Tax and handling fees

Edit some background: - I have a family that I'm proud of - I have a job that I enjoy, that pays reasonably, that makes a difference to people - I have an employer and colleagues who supported me through my recent health issues - I have a home (a fairly 'average' house) that is comfortable for us -...

Re: BTL house - BLT mortgage or regular?

IMO the whole rental area is due for a massive shakeup. In my area many BTL places are holiday lets. Last year was bad, this year is looking no better so far, will it pick up again? Who knows, but a BTL on a mortgage with zero income is a major millstone around some people's necks, and if it doesn'...

Cold two day old pizza, rather than a piping hot fresh one.

A cold shower rather than a warm one, it keeps one humble.

Why on Earth do you say I think life is shit? What do you think you know to make a statement like that? This is called I'm ok, you're ok. You mostly post in a "You're ok, but I'm not ok" context meaning that you think I'm ok 'because of stuff' and you're not ok 'because of stuff',...

I’ve said my bit ...I will leave the rest of you to your handwringing about people going to the shops ..
I'll agree if the speeding biker is sat in hospital whining about it not being his fault.
And especially if so many of them do it that the rest of the world has to stay in and suffer for it.

Re: Covid restrictions - are you adhering or not?

I believe our societies lack of discipline, due mainly to our lack of punishment has plenty to do with our lack of controlling the infection rate. I agree to a point, I'd definitely advocate some harsher response to crime, but I think more damaging than a lack of punishment is the belief that whate...

Re: Beware, EU purchases. Tax and handling fees

So how might I influence the outcomes of Brexit? What wins have I overlooked and should endevour to have a creatively positive view of? However, WRT to mental outlook, you're in a relatively unusual financial position of being not just comfortable but also have investments and disposable income. Wi...

Re: Beware, EU purchases. Tax and handling fees

I would like to hear of the 'wins' but, so far, they each seem to be accompanied by 'lose'. There are those that think that if someone wins then someone else must lose. And there are those that think that your financial situation is created purely by human endeavour and then it's all up to you. It'...

Re: Covid restrictions - are you adhering or not?

But would folk still go to mass gatherings if/when caught attending, they get 20 years. ? Some might, but I'm sure it would be a better deterrent than a £200 fine.. £10 a week probably. I can't see it myself, they'll just act more surprised when they're held to account and the harsher sentence is i...

Re: Covid restrictions - are you adhering or not?

Are people doing everything they can to stay healthy and limit the impact on health services? I think for most they think it's limited to going to the pub less and wearing a mask. The people in the picture below have had almost a year to work on their health. I'm no doctor but I reckon obesity + cov...

Re: BTL house - BLT mortgage or regular?

Rightmove gives you all of the Land Registry details for sales. Have a look at other houses nearby. I look on it regularly and it's gone up a bit, maybe 10k in ten years. Next doors bought theirs about ten years ago and it was on Rightmove recently for about ten grand more, it's under offer now but...
