Re: Folding Ebike.

Nice pedal today from Tansley to High Peak Junction, then down towpath for a few miles. Back to Cromford for refreshments at the Boat Inn. On through Matlock to the Bentley Brook brewery for more refreshments then home to cottage in Tansley. Cracking day had and the lady enjoyed it. 👍 Tansley is re...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Had a v nice day. Drove over the hill to the next village. It's v chocolate box, with a stream, ducks, little bridge etc so attracts weekend visitors. We parked up away from all that and walked in to go to an art and craft exhibition. Nothing made my wallet twitch so we walked back up one of the old...

Re: Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 2 Strip Down

Excellent thread! Q? Given the faff taking the thing apart, what would you routinely have to do to stop the thing self-destructing like this? It looks like you'd have to strip it down clean/grease it etc pretty regularly. (Or send it to someone to do it). Doesn't look like washing the bike each time...

If you don't take your glasses back to the bar, or your plates back to the serving window in a greasy spoon cafe then you're a lout. It's a good way to get excellent service the next time you're in. Dont know where my post went as i answered this. :( I always take the glass back when in a pub. Only...

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.

The plot is long and thin, and the long edge runs along side the road for about 2/3rds of it's length, the house access being at that point. The front door of the house and the larger window in the living area faces away from the road so arguable the back of the house faces the road. The shed is pl...

It's acid test of whether someone understands society. Do they take the trolly back in the supermarket? - It doesn't directly benefit you, only other people - It costs you time and effort - There's no penalty if you don't do it But...you benefit from everyone else doing it. :hmmm: I have to take 'e...

Considered? Don't you have fixed boundaries or is there some confusion which is the front and back garden? :eh:

Re: State of the roads

I assume everyone is aware of my love for potholes after being lucky to survive hitting one a few years ago so clearly not the biggest fan. Managed to clip one I couldn’t avoid on Saturday (narrow country road with oncoming traffic so couldn’t swerve enough) while out in the go faster roller skate ...

Re: Pension stuff, how's it all looking ? HAve you prepared ?

So what is the UK inflation rate at the moment? Officially it's 3.2% according to the people that want you to believe it's 3.2%. Obviously it depends on how you slice it and what you include and exclude in your calculations, but does anyone really think it's 3.2%? So the inflation rate is possibly ...

Oh yeah, a PS....if anyone is a fan of Fungus the Bogeyman and anywhere near the Sarf coast there's what looks like a corking Raymond Briggs exhibition on at the Ditchling Museum of Art and Crafts.

I will be scheduling a trip.

(It's on until October).

Re: Inflation

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a 'larger than expected' cut soon but it depends on how much leverage the government actually have on the BoE. There's an election coming up. If it happens it will be tempered by a desire to keep the savers happy too. Bailey was the wrong man for the job. I don't ...

Re: Pension stuff, how's it all looking ? HAve you prepared ?

I'll just politely disagree. That's fine, I don't want an argument :) I threw out a very black and white statement, of course there will be grey areas. FYI - you can borrow against liabilities, you can borrow even if you don't own the liabilities, I went short on the US dollar even though I didn't ...
