Ah.

What are the odds that the wrong share has stoofed as a result of the righteous indignation of a few WASP 'influencers'?

Probably because Lord Elon, Andrew Tate and Bev Turner got into a froth about it. (Musk should have asked his brother's wife what she thought of it - Kimbal's missus is a bit more 21st century  ).

Re: Worrying noises coming from the loft...rodents!

I've used poison and traps for mice at one time or another in the loft. They both worked and never had a problem with smells. (Humane traps are a no-no for me because it's a pain getting up there to check them). Quite often I'd find them dead inside the bait boxes. Which blocks the next critter from...

I've just finished 'John does at the end'. It was alright, but I'm not rushing out to buy the sequel. Just looked at the wiki on that. I won't be breaking into a trot to acquire a copy. PS Next up, another M R Carey 'Someone Like Me'. Started it ages ago and will probably have to star...

Re: Reading: The Book Thread

Just finished 'Infinity Gate' by M. R. Carey. He of 'The Girl With All the Gifts', 'Fellside' etc. It seems everything he does is a bit of a swerve from each previous topic. This one is a multiverse/AI/alternate histories sort of thing. Enjoyed it enough to be sufficiently impatient to wait for Janu...

Indeed, it does seem wrong.
Less surprisingly, London has 181 but with a pop. figure of 8.86 million that's only 20 McDs/million.
