Re: Kids' off road bike advice please
On a new Sur-ron Light Bee X, giving it some beans off-road/on track you might get 20 miles out of a full charge. With an older battery, about 15?
Probably enough for an hour long session?
At least with an ICE you can glug another pint or two of fuel in and keep going.
An ICE bike gives him ...

Re: Kids' off road bike advice please
Are you thinking of getting into racing or just mucking around in a field, odd day at a track?
If you're thinking of racing go to a few schoolboy MX meets, speak to the parents, they'll know of decent bikes for sale and be able to give you an idea on how things work / costs.
"We still need to ...

Re: Kids' off road bike advice please
I know very little, but generally I'd imagine that you very much get what you pay for, and anything off ebay is probably 50% likely to be stolen.
I share your thoughts/concern, particularly the theft aspect as I have no idea how to check if a bike is moody or not. I'm guessing as kids bikes are ...

Kids' off road bike advice please
Apologies for not posting in the off-road forum but I think I'll get more exposure in here.
My 10 year old step-son is uber-keen to get an off-road bike but besides looking at eBay and FBM we've no idea where to start looking or what we should be looking for. He's done a few days at MXTryOut in ...

Re: The Pyrenees/Northern Spain
Just booked tomorrow night in La Seu d'Urgell.
Probably have morning coffee on Saturday in Andorra, just to say I've been.
About the only reason to visit is to tick it off on a list. It's basically a parasitic-microstate-duty free shop.
I also remember it being a heavy traffic/slow ride ...

Re: Thread sealer or PTFE tape?
Perhaps get hold of some Gas PTFE tape; it's a lot thicker and stronger than the PTFE tape used on water pipes etc.
If gas PTFE tape is yellow then that's what I've used last night. Drian bolt/hole is still weeping, not as much as before. Back to the drawing board before I shell out £350 for a ...

Re: Thread sealer or PTFE tape?
Which part of the housing?
If it's dropping from the bottom, trace it up to the actual weep.
The reason i ask is that often the gearbox output shaft will weep and the oil will run down the drive shaft and then weep from the bottom of the rubber gaiter, making it look like the final driver is ...

Thread sealer or PTFE tape?
The final drive housing on my R1150GSA has a very slight leak. Shopping with new crush washers, would PTFE tape or leak sealant/thread sealer be a better option?
Tried be crush washers but they don't do the leak entirely.
Ta.

Professional thieves will have your bike regardless of what you do. I doubt they would want an 06 Fazer but i want dont want the little balaclava bastards nicking my bike while visiting the city. They only nick them to rag round the fields till the fuel runs out. You get it back trashed of lucky ...

I've been done three times for 23 in a 20 - I'm the most mild mannered least speedy person on here
Were those by speed cameras in London? Fairly sure I've been through a few of them at that speed, even slightly higher, and been lucky enough to not get nabbed.
The met are often down the ...

Re: Where to in Wales?
Was in Wales for Easter with Bigyin and a few others. We stayed in Bala at the Plas Coch Hotel. Basic best describes the accommodation, not a place to take the missus for a pleasant weekend away but good for 10 blokes just looking for bed, breakfast, beer and riding. It did have off-street parking ...
