Re: Another bike dealer bites the dust.

My local Yamaha dealer has gone bust too, Paddock Motorcycles in Congleton. They're dropping like flies at the moment, doesn't bode well for the industry at all.

Re: Yamaha MT-09 SP

Yours is a gen 3 dodgy, like mine. The gen 1 and 2 had a much taller headstock, hence the odd front end. The gen 3 was much better, completely new frame, and the recent gen 4 is very similar in frame, maybe a few mm lower headstock. The bars are closer to the rider and the pegs higher and a bit furt...

Re: Yamaha MT-09 SP

I'd say there are still a few new gen 3 SP's knocking about in dealers, so maybe a bargain to be had.

Re: Yamaha MT-09 SP

dern It's a fun bike on b-roads. Engine is the highlight really. Handling is fine, but most complain of a vague front end. I have lower risers to help a little. Mine is a 2022, the new one is better in that regard, but I assume you are looking used? I have a gen 3, the generations before have an ev...

Re: Yamaha MT09SP

You're Congleton way I think? Give me a shout if you ever fancy a ride up into the Peaks or somewhere. I'm terrible company but having someone to ride with might encourage you out. Thanks for the offer Chris. Have this weekend to myself so decided to make the most of the settled weather. Up to the ...

Re: Yamaha MT09SP

Absolutely dogsh1t if I'm honest mate. Had been hoping to do more on the bike, maybe a trackday or two, but it just hasn't happened. I'd probably regret selling it, so maybe I need to just leave that thought for now.

Re: Yamaha MT09SP

Thought I might as well update this thread. Actually, there is no update. Hardly been out on the bike this year, maybe 1000 miles max, not sure. Thinking of selling up, but the used market is on its arse and can't be bothered with selling privately.

All the stars aligned for JR for that one. Can't see him winning another WSBK race, nevemind tomorrow. Shame, but the pecking order has changed now.

Re: Does anyone here not ride, or not ride anymore?

I'm in my 4th year of my second stint of riding. My first stint wasn't much to write home about, mostly commuting with a bit of dicking around in between. Mostly because I've always loved bikes and it was much cheaper than having a car that I couldn't afford. Must admit, I'm starting to feel a littl...

Re: Yamaha MT09SP

An expensive day. Annual service, new rear tyre (S22), and OE heated grips. Had a Tracer 7 GT whilst the bike was in. Not a bad bike actually, fun to ride, but the brakes were awful. I know Yams aren't renowned for their brakes, but there felt really poor. My MT09's felt like a BSB set up in compari...

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?

A quick ride out at lunchtime today. Bright, but cool enough to need the winter gear on. Roads were dry, but so much water running off the hills. Potholes have bred, they're multiplying by the day. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53649423409_a487b62e1e_k.jpg IMG_0643edit by Colin , on Flickr

It's fine in that case, just doesn't look tidy for me. They generally come as a pack of two per screen, so you have a second chance to get it right.

Re: Yamaha MT09SP

Fitted a speedo angels dash protector as I'd sorted the scratches on it and wanted to protect it. It's crap. Might get rid. I was about to fit one to my GSXS, what's up with it? Air bubbles and not sticking around the edges. Followed the instructions to a tee and the screen was spotless before I fi...

Re: Yamaha MT09SP

That's inevitable, given we've had the wettest 18 months on record. It's only going to get worse year on year now. Wet and mild. If this summer is a washout the bike is going and I'll get something cheap that I don't mind riding in bad weather.

Sorry it's been a while. Nothing much to report, I've done the grand some of about 100 miles this year. Fitted a speedo angels dash protector as I'd sorted the scratches on it and wanted to protect it. It's crap. Might get rid. Not really feeling it, maybe it's the weather, maybe I'm bored. It's goi...

New Triumph Daytona 660

Well, it is finally revealed.

95hp, 12.5k redline. Looks good to me!

Let the RTTL bashing commence

Get a used cbf500 for a couple grand, and spend the rest on coke and hookers.
No, not a winter bike. Something to ride when the weather isn't perfect and for doing some different riding.
