Re: Road Craft Manual Revision
Bought the police motorcycle road craft paper backed book after about 3 yrs from passing my test and buying a new R1. I was lucky as I had about 30k miles of road riding experience with a bunch of good mates that had decades of real life road riding skills and natural ability. When I read the book I...

Re: Chain lube/wax/paste
Chainsaw bar lube for me ,applied every 150 miles onto a warm chain.
The chain on the fire blade is as good as new after 8k miles.

Re: Middle age quandary?
Cheers for all the input.Fancied the 1299s as it was the last of the v-twin model. Two good mates have aprilia v4 and the new ducati v4.rode them both but not in mental modes. Aprilia never again took me nearly a year for a few parts to arrive after a minor spill. Deffo not buying a bike unseen but ...

Re: Middle age quandary?
Right  had a right f---k on with the insurance company to amend the policy without reg details ,multiple bikes that is. Keeping both the zx10r and the blade .Looked online at a 3.5k milage 16 plate 1299s ,fitted with well worn track tyres :silent: Bike looked clean as a whistle on the websi...

Re: Insurance companies (and brokers) taking the piss.
Dropped a right bollock about three yrs ago. I had over nine yrs no claims running on three individual insurance policy's for 3 sports bikes, fire blade ,zx10r and gsxr thou. Decided to get them all insured on a multi bike policy as I would only have one renewal date.Worked out a small saving but los...

Re: TRackday prices, they're getting a bit daft now ?
If I returned to the track I recon £250 would be the most I,d pay for the actual track time. Back in the day I had two 5eb Yamaha r6 with a wet and dry set up and was king of the hill :banana-wrench: .After a 8 yr break or so I felt massively under gunned for the fast group and under prepared Tbo. ...

Re: TRackday prices, they're getting a bit daft now ?
10% increase isn't going to put anyone off. Look at the average cost of the bikes in the trackdays paddock nowadays.. 4k upwards. Combined with coming out of lockdown and the places will be rammed, same as last year. I've got Mallory and Donington booked already 🙂 ... No point being the richest blo...

Middle age quandary?
Hi,thank you for letting me join the forum .Been lurking for a while  At nearly 54 yrs old I,m after another sports bike and feel if I leave things much longer I,ll have missed the boat. My wife says better regret something you have done rather than something you did not do. .So I could buy a...

Re: TRackday prices, they're getting a bit daft now ?
Started doing track days in 2007.My local circuit is croft and with plenty promoters at the time @about £69 a pop you could do 1-3 days per week if you fancied.Last one I did was a while ago and was £199 and the place was fully booked. All about supply and demand.I stopped doing them when the majori...
