Re: Is motorcycling dying?

There are still a lot of ICE scoots - L plated, of course - being used for deliveries in London. But the trend, as Bigyin says, is towards the souped up e-cycles, aka illegal mopeds. For the reasons he states, they will be a growing trend unless/until they are policed or regulated. One additional p...

Re: How's yer driveshaft

I thought UJs were supposed to have grease nipples maybe that’s the issue
Yup, the UJ on my Guzzi V10 had grease nipples but the later Carc models didn't 🤔

Even more glad I ditched the GS for a Biffer, but was quite impressed with the service you get from BMW.

Nice one moby, seems like a fair few of us like the looks of the FTR, would definitely put one on the list if I ever parted with the Morini...

Re: Is motorcycling dying?

Not sure tbh, maybe he had no intention of doing big bike test. Found out about the every 2 year bollox and thought better get it done. Just mot, insure & tax a sensible big bike, ride like a saint for a year & then reapply :silent: Saw swarms of kids riding ringadings along the main highwa...

Re: New BMW R90S

The S easily looks £7k betterer.
But only because the base model looks utter shit & probably why the marketing photos are so badly developed too.

Re: Is motorcycling dying?

Maybe it's just motorcyclists that are dying/getting too old to ride.

+2. I like Guzzi customs but that's horrid.
That's fairly typical of what Ghezi & Brian churn out though 😕

Re: Small number plates, loud exhausts, dark tinted visors, do you still use any of these naughty biker things?

Guzzi race exhaust set the neighbours van alarm off so I got some cheap dB killers welded into place & had it dyno'd, small plate is legal coz it's only 6 digit & fits perfectly on the Morinis plate holder, never bothered with the other stuff.

Re: Talk to me about boost plugs!

Beetle maps are very well known in the Guzzi fraternity
Still found a proper remap at Dave Wood Racing far better for my 1200 sport, considerably more expensive than a beetle map grant you, but +5bhp in the midrange & a lot smoother.

Re: Can you still put written off bikes back on the road?

Shouldn't be a problem, you'll have to give it a frame number, it won't be a Brough and it won't be worth much, it's the same as any other special frames bike, get over to UK Specials on Facebook and ask. Thanks I'll take a look, not bothered about the value (engine will be worth a few quid) just l...

Re: Tyre question..

Thanks Druid & Mangocrazy, getting them fitted to the mighty Morini tomorrow, gonna be a relief to bin the faux off road tyres from it - having the front squealing braking into bends is not exactly confidence inspiring.

Re: Can you still put written off bikes back on the road?

At £2.5k list price for a petrol tank it's not surprising my Guzzi was written off at 6 months old back in 2007. My brother has a replica Brough frame & old engine that I'd love to get built up with more modern components (brakes that work) but it's a mine field of regulation & registration ...

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?

Popped over to Hideout leathers to pick up some new troos & gloves, flooding made passing through Luton even more horrible than normal but overall not a bad 135mile round trip, some bike cleaning fans might have a wee stroke at the sight of my bike though.

Re: Your bike is stolen, what are you replacing it with?

If someone stole the Morini, I'd probably check to see if one of the other 14 owners in the country had nicked it for spares* & if not cry a bit before either buying back my old Centauro or getting a Griso.

*3 months & counting just for a replacement indicator..

Re: Tyre question..

Going off topic, just ordered a pair of Metzler Roadtec 01 tyres & they have arrived but the front is an 01 SE & the rear is a plain 01 - is this likely to be a major problem?
They'll be replacing the faux off road tyres on my Morini 1200 scrambler..
