Re: Ride or Die

Racers, particularly those who race at the IoM have to find ways of coping with the loss of fellow riders. I was in the Press office in 1986 when Steve Cull learned of the death of Gene McDonnell in one of the most bizarre accidents ever at the TT when a horse, startled by a helicopter that was ...

It should be named Priscilla if it's the Queen of the Desert. It would be apt, the whole thing does look a bit ghey.

Samson roll-ups for me, None of those nasty chemicals to keep the cigarette burning even if you left it in the ashtray. And a better flavour (IMHO).

Re: Qatar MotoGP

Superb racing but I feel very sorry for Vinales, seems like the team sets tyre pressure at the start for where they expect the rider to race. Spend a few laps in clean air at the front and you're fucked.

Jorge Martin, ouch.

Unless your surname is Marquez you go into the race knowing that the ...

Drop from 2nd to 15th for a tyre pessure infringement? The punishment really doesn't fit the crime. That stupid rule should be scrapped or at least radically overhauled.

Faster than a 21 year old F1 car

8-)

Fastest lap Silverstone 2004 was 1.18, last year was 1.28, 10 seconds slower. I'm sure there's reasons why but F1 cars from 2004 are reckoned to be some of the fastest ever.

Fair cop, guv. I wasn't aware of that. Mind you, no F1 car in ...

(They've sacked the head of the US base in Greenland because she politely disagreed with Clampett and suggested that her base was operating well).

So, in the USA you can say what you like - as long as you agree with the Chuckle Brothers that run the place.

I’m not sure military personnel ...

Footpeg mounts/adaptors are either M8, M10 or M12, so can be used across a large number of bikes. I used them on the Falco recently to remove and grease all the swingarm bearings.

Unless it's something like an old Harley or Brit iron, of course.

Yes, I'm fully aware how it works. It's the blatant-ness of it that still astounds me. They even use the exact same model name and number as the item they've copied. Specifications, quoted performance, exactly the same. However I shall buy two just in case the first one goes pop. The company that ...

The pump in my solar thermal (hot water) setup in the S of F has decided it's going on strike, but won't tell me its demands... It's a 12-24V DC affair, run off a solar panel and for ages it's pumped away happily, but not any more. It won't even pump away grumpily. I've dismantled it as far as I can ...

Re: Hokuto: A kinetic Moto Guzzi SP3 1000 café racer from Monza

It's a complete visual mess. Junk all the bodywork 'improvements', get rid of those stupid discs; you're supposed to remove unsprung weight, not add to it, but keep the engine and suspension upgrades (the only worthwhile mods that I can see). Why do people take a fine old moto like the SP3 Guzzi and ...
