Re: NBD - Roary the Red...

I've got four and I reckon I've managed just over 2,000 miles... Most of it on a single trip to Fronch. I'll try harder next year now I've got my new BSA to plod about on. I've got four running bikes and I'd say my annual mileage is very similar to KFB's and most of those miles were done in France.

Re: Inconsequential ramblings of an Old Git

Yes, back in the day I made up a (very sketchy) clutch holding tool from a plain steel plate and an old screwdriver blade. It (just about) worked. Glad to have a proper tool now though... :)

Re: Inconsequential ramblings of an Old Git

With the howling gales and torrential rain behind us and a period of relatively calm weather in prospect it was time to push the Falco out into the garden, giving me room to work on the LC. I really didn't want to go through the palaver of disconnecting the oil pump cable and the oil supply and feed...

It went on short local tours. Or perhaps only the very occasional longer tour. I've got a 15 y.o. sports-tourer that's only done 12k miles.

Re: KTM Troubles

It makes zero sense from either side; KTM's or Lewis's. KTM's ace in the hole is their racing heritage - they're not going to gift that to an outsider with zero experience of running a MotoGP team. And right now Lewis has his hands full with his imminent move to Ferrari. He'll be giving that his un...

Re: Bands, groups, music, inspirational, aspirational, what happened ?

Anyone doing AI vocals yet? Everything else can be generated I expect vocals will be the last straw. Not that I listen to popular music, I have DKFM or Spotify on in the car since Radio 6 went to shit prob 10 years ago Auto-tune (which is effectively AI vocals) is rampant at all levels of music esp...

Re: Xmas deserts, what say you ?

What others have said. I 'do' Xmas dinner (normally roast lamb) and it's always a proper gutbuster, with no chance of squeezing any dessert in.

But give it 4 or 5 hours of getting nicely pissed on good red wine and Christmas pud and alcoholic custard can sound very attractive...

Re: I have a horrible feeling my T4 van's head gasket is toast

Today I drove from Sheffield to Darwen to drop the van off at AW Engineering. The route I used included Snake Pass and on one part of it one side of the carriageway had suffered a landslip, and only one lane was in operation. I've no idea when it happened but I'm very glad I wasn't there when it let...

Assad gets a fourteenth floor flat with lots of easy-open windows. Putin probably gets the keys to Assad's bank account(s)

I take it you've got the tyre bar for aluminium rims? The one for steel rims will wreck ali rims for fun. I've lost count of the amount I've saved in changing my own tyres.

Re: Water meter over reading?

Should have bought a house with a cellar... :D I can access nearly all of the length of my cold water supply - it enters through the wall in the cellar, snakes its way through the cellar, up the stairs, feeds the bathroom then drops down to the kitchen. The only part that isn't accessible is the pa...
