Re: Hub Centre Steering
Ron preferred the conventional NSR to the HCS one I think the only bikes I've ridden with anything other than teles have been mopeds and scooters so I've no experience to draw on for these, they are interesting though, Dazzles point about being able to feel the front end tucking is very valid, a di...

Re: Hub Centre Steering
Why are the MotoGP boys are still rocking forks and have no interest in changing. If it's good enough at the cutting edge why would we be on anything else?
As has been said, it's engineering solutions to a problem that doesn't exist.

They are complete works of art. But they are miniscule.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 12:00 pm It's binkin' tiny. Look how big the wheels look compared to the rest of the bike. The top of the tank is probably knee height for me!

A lovely bloke who was so passionate about the sport and constantly put teams out on the grid that reflected his efforts, drive and desire. He will be very sorely missed.

Re: Damon Hypersport - electric bike trend continues.
This is an interesting site. A friend went on it when he was getting frustrated by how his Nissan Leaf battery was performing (he has a petrol V8 for "proper" driving - like most EV owners I know seem to have!) and it's been very well used as he's been slowly working his way through EVs in...

Took this yesterday..Shows how our island emerged. First the molten lava solidifying in the sea. Then the sand covering it. And this year the grass covering that.. 20210218_115501.jpg Our mates who live in PB sent us a satellite shot of the island in Oct 20 (brown, volcanic!) and in Feb 21 (green!)...

Re: FASTER WASP: A YAMAHA YARD BUILT FZ-09 WITH A STING
It's a decent stab at the old TZ750 flat tracker. The seat unit and 'blockiness' of the wasp make it look older, less modern than the one GP posted. I like them both for different reasons. That. I'm a little surprised at the lack of love for the "flat tracker". I think it's a great modern ...

Re: Donny is Shit.........overrated !
Hmmmm it's a tricky one isn't it. But it has good lefts, good rights, uppy bits, downy bits and no stupid after-thought chicanes. Which puts it fairly high up on the list for me. I prefer Silverstone, but after that, i'm probably putting Donny 2nd. Silverstone? Flat, wide, boring. Still the most bi...

Re: Would you have an electric car if you had the money for a new car and were in the market for one?
Jaguar announced today that they are switching to being an all electric brand. A few years ago that would have seemed more radical, but of course in the not too distant future all brands will be electric (in Europe at least). Interestingly they are also gonna start doing hydrogen fuel cells more se...

When a litre of water is a kilo? Not really, the metric system is logical and relative. But the Imperial system is better. I mean, it's obviously better, stands to reason, it's British. Innit. :D One of the things that amuses me about the metric system is how they decided the unit of length. They b...

Re: What Road Chain Set ?
Lostboy - thought about drops - but it is a RoadRat long ( from when they did the short and long) - it means with drops it would be quite stretched. Plus I would have to buy road levers and changers- so shots the cost up. So it will be flat barred ... with bar ends ... :-) Will check what is on the...

The only image issue that I'm having is that someone has bolted some white panels with blue stripes on an XS in the bizarre belief that it may resemble an LC. It's fucking awful.

Re: What Road Chain Set ?
Are you going flat bar or drops? Putting decent slick rubber on it? In a break with the other posters I'd be thinking 50/34 "compact" with a 11-28 or 11-30 cassette there's a huge gain in speed to be had, you're rarely in the wrong ratio (because they're very close) and 34/28 or 34/30 will...
