Re: Leccy or ice ???
People sometimes ask me why I didn't choose a "family car" on the scheme at work. My car fills a parking space and can seat 5 adults :wtf: It's just not an SUV. …. It seems the marketing of have a kid = VW Tiguan at a minimum works  That applies at the other end of the market too. V...

Re: What do points make?
229 points? As points “expire” after 3 years, that means the driver has acquired an average of 75 points each year for the last 3 years. 3 points (say) every 2 weeks, throughout that time. That sounds deliberate to me - certainly not “poor obs”. Throw him in jail.

Nice illustration of why I don’t take any of your diatribes on here seriously.

Radio 1.(which I never listen to). Except I’ve tried recently, because of… Radio 2. A pitiful shadow of its former self. Radio 4. prime time programmes such as 9.00 Sat morning - Nicky Bedi - horrendous presenter. And all their prime time “comedy” programmes at 6.30pm with the exception of I’m Sorry...

Re: Legalizing Marijuana and Road Safety: Time for a New Perspective?
You drive loads slower when you're high, someone told me once. For wisdom teeth extraction, I was dosed with Valium. Knew what was happening, totally didn't care. But people drive while on it (admittedly lower doses). Same for me for my vasectomy as I was embarrassingly apprehensive due to my occup...

Re: Things you don't 'get' that others do?
Even if you don't like football/boxing/golf/competitive tiddlywinks I'd have thought you'd at least get the idea of why people like competitive pastimes? And if even if you don't like football you probably like motorcycle racing, for example, which is basically the same thing bar a few details ;) Y...

Boxing, wrestling. I.e. grown men fighting. Why? Football. Bunch of overpaid nancies. Football fans, if I can widen the scene a bit. Louts, mostly. Rugby, otoh….. (explain that.) Drinking until you’re drunk. Why? Evangelical Christians. Evangelical anything, in fact. Intolerant people like me… I’ll ...

Re: KTM 1390 Super Duke GT is most focused version to date with new engine and semi-active suspension
I’ve had a Suzuki and 2 Hondas, but I got bored. Neither brand makes any bike that pushes my button at present, and I “need” my button to be pushed if I’m going to spend my money and enjoy motorcycling, which I very much still do, thanks to my KTM.

Re: KTM 1390 Super Duke GT is most focused version to date with new engine and semi-active suspension
I’ve had 2 SDGTs, ‘17 for 3 years/17k miles, ‘20 for 4.5 years/ 27k miles, still going strong🤞🤞. Yes, I’ve had a few problems, but they’ve been tolerable/fixable. I like it because it’s compact, has a monster engine, and it’s not an il4. 1390? I don’t need more power (tho obv…), it’ll probably be ar...

Re: Small number plates, loud exhausts, dark tinted visors, do you still use any of these naughty biker things?
I’ve had the same 7X6 plate for 20 years, swapped between bikes at every change (I just like the number). Never queried on the road or at MOT time, and I think it looks “tidier” on the bike. Exhaust is standard as I’d rather spend the money on something else than to make it noisier. Visor: my Arai h...

Re: Depression
“Count your blessings” doesn’t work for people with true depression. It can/ does make things worse.
“Yes, I know I’ve got all these advantages, things, money, support, love etc, so I shouldn’t feel this awful…. But I still do. What’s WRONG with me?”
