Re: Driving down from Calais to Bordeaux (ish): What route / where should I stay?

It was a good while ago that I did this. I stayed in Le Mans overnight. The cathedral is amazing, like a huge brooding malevolent spider, keeping an eye on her estate.

OK - I am planning to be at Box hill by around 2, if anyone fancies it. It's OK, you don't have to fancy me. Although admiration from a distance is fine.

I have attempted to banish orange from mine, but I'm not quite there yet.

Anyone fancy Box Hill or Loomie's later today? Sun's making a rare guest appearance.

Re: G'wan, one won't hurt

I cant believe anyone thinks alcoholic drinks don't taste nice? Seriously? Its almost as good as cheese! Anyway. I don't drink particularly regularly. But if I have a drink, I have a drink. I don't much see the point of drinking unless you get drunk, and I rather like being drunk, so that's what I d...

Re: Does anyone have a good overview of multi room audio?

There is some misunderstanding going on here. My streaming system is hi-fi. It is hi-res audio that delivers lossless audio of at least CD bitrate. My Audiolab kit is run on DTI Play-fi which is a multi-room enabled system. It should be possible to link it to another DTI Play-Fi enabled device elsew...

Anyone got a Chinese mini- lathe?

I've acquired a mini lathe, unexpectedly. It was there, and at a price I couldn't turn down. It all seems to be there, with the exception of a chuck key for the tail stock. I've always fancied one, but now it's here, I'm slightly apprehensive, as I've got no experience with such things. Any tips? Wh...

Does anyone have a good overview of multi room audio?

I don't quite know what I need. I've got an Audiolab music streaming box running into sn Audiolab, which is driving a lovely set of B&Ws. This is all linked up with the Xbox & the TV. The music runs on Data Play-Fi. Meanwhile in another part of the forest, my turntable, CD changer and tuner,...

Re: Zx6r 1999 hot start issue

My old Guzzi Le Mans 3 did this. It would start fine from cold, or from red hot, but if it was warm - forget it. My tame Guzzi guy reckoned it was carbs getting too hot, and fuel evaporating in the float chambers. But I was skeptical, as it started fine if red hot. I changed the inlet rubbers for th...

Hello.

I remember visiting you in hospital along with some other reprobates, many moons ago. Are you feeling better now?

Re: Superduke R - limp mode

Thanks.

Interesting. I've had MTC Fail before due to poor battery connections, but it's always been on starting from cold. Checked battery connections yesterday, and they seemed ok, but snugged them up.

Superduke R - limp mode

Don't you hate intermittent issues? It's just done this for the second time. Went for a ride, and everything warmed up nicely. Stopped for fuel. Showed "MTC error" on startup. Then, as I pulled away "TC Error" and engine light and TC light both on. Bike went into limp mode - no ...

Re: YOUR most influential bikers....

A guy at skool the year above me. He had long hair and came to skool on a BSA A10. He was as cool as penguins' feet, and gurls' buzzed round him like flies round s fresh turd. And I wanted some of that. And I wanted it badly. For some reason, I never managed to replicate the effect with the gurls'. ...

Re: More on bat flatteries

The bad news is that it's dead. Three different battery chargers confirm that it's not interested. It is an ex battery. It has ceased to be. It is no more. The good news is that Halfords had cunningly sent me the receipt by email. So I had proof of purchase. And they gave me a brand spanking new one...
