Re: Worrying noises coming from the loft...rodents!
There will always be lots of them. Use Ruby Grain poison and keep putting it down until they stop taking it. We had a ton of meeces in the kitchen loft recently and resorted to poison instead of our usual traps approach. They got through two full Chinese takeaway tubs of the stuff in 24 hours 😱 - c...

Took the back door off its hinges so the new fridge could get into the house.
Reattached the back door and it still closes - win!
Put things into the new fridge, marveled at it's space and coldness

Re: What have you done today thread?
Lugged a shit ton of books and bookcases upstairs to make room for my new massive fridge, which is arriving on Wednesday. The old fridge decided to pack up a week ago, and as we're planning to knock out a wall for a big kitchen next year, it didn't make sense to buy a replacement small one. So there...

Re: A right now thread
I've just hauled myself out of bed and made it to the settee, thanks to a particularly shitty cold that meant I couldn't sleep.
The cold hasn't floored me, but the lack of sleep did.
Will log on to check work briefly shortly, then resume my rotting position here.

I was pretty disappointed with it last year. I'll maybe go next time I fancy a new bike, but otherwise it's a nope I reckon.

We get something very similar to that on our log store - it's woodlice in our case.

This differentiation of people by sex: Even after all these years. I don't get the wimminz. :( That's not a late life admission of the ghey,or anything, just an acknowledgement of the random unpredictability that is ever present in wimminz of the female kind. I can relate to this... You guys do know ...

People who are incapable of turning off their fog lights. Or think they are necessary even when they can see the lights of the car behind them!! FFS, if you can see my lights, I can see yours. You don't need to blind me! This is one of mine too, and reminds me of another one - which I'm sure is wor...

People who put apostrophes in the term KPIs.
Other dodgy apostrophe usage is of course available, nay plentiful, but in my line of work I see that particular one far too much.

Roadworks.
A repeated theme I know, but this evening's drive from the Midlands to the North East was particularly fucking awful.

Re: Madeira
From a bike specific point of view, I'd add: The main highway-type roads are tunnel after tunnel after tunnel. The coast roads were often covered in loose rocks and shit. The whole place is basically a big pointy mountain, so as you go up you can easily leave a nice sunny coastal area and go straigh...

Re: Madeira
Here ya go: We hired a car (Seat Ibiza) from a highly rated local place - pretty cheap, really nice people, who sit and draw on a map and recommend places to go and places to eat etc: Auto Rent a Car Cabo Girao Skywalk - cool glass viewing platform - used to be free, but now costs something daft lik...

Re: What have you done today thread?
Was meant to be in court today but it was cancelled to give a Junkie another chance to plea Guilty or not what i found odd. Anyway decided to build an add on to the shed and put the Fazer away for the winter. Still to felt the roof and probably just chippy stone the floor but its out of sight and t...

Re: 2 strokes; Noisy smelly unreliable things or the very soul of motorcycling?
I remember Slapper back in VD days had a KR1S, before her NC30. Years later she was getting rid of it in boxes, and I'd have bought it, not because I knew anything about them, just because I fancied a project, but Muz talked me out of it 😭 Punish him every waking moment for that one. To b...

They're a thing of the past from my POV, never been "current" for me and therefore a bit outdated and shite. Plus they always look and smell like they're broken ;) You're around the same age as Bob and I aren't you? Or did you start late? I passed my test 2 days after my 17th Birthd...
