Re: What have you done today thread?

Ended up leaving the house before 7.30 this morning.
Good ride to the RockStore.
Good hoon up The Snake & back along part of Kanan & then Mulholland...
Was giving it the sauce in The Playground when my camera mount decided it had enough & parted company with the bike.
Did a U turn to find parts all ...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Got up, 3 S'd, '83 GPz11 is already pre-flighted & gassed up for today's shenanigans, so will likely be out the door by 8am (currently 6.45AM)
Neil Morrow Band is playing at my local at 3pm, so it will all be a bit Yippee Ki Yay & cowgirls later.

Re: '83 GPz750-A1 malarkey.

Removed 4 brake pad clips from a GPz900R front end at the salvage yard. Cost me $200...

Luckily I'm pretty flush right now... so I tipped him another $300

Woke up to shoulder/neck muscle pain that makes me wonder if I slept folded up in a 5 gallon bucket.

Popped pills.

Wot, you've never hit a bumble bee or even worse a cockchafer flying beetle while riding a motorbike with no shirt on? Fukin hurtz.

Took a bumble bee to the eyeball at about 80mph just as I reached up to close the visor on a '76 Z900 on a back road bear Bury St Ed's back in the mid '80's ...

& Yes, the oil filter gubbins is assembled correctly.

Most Kaw's are: plate, spring, washer, filter, cup

These are: plate, cup, spring, washer, filter.

I have no idea why.

Re: '83 GPz750-A1 malarkey.

Today's plan was:
Fit exhaust
Fit carb manifolds
Change oil/filter
Fit carbs
Fit pods
Get it running...

What actually happened was:
Left my goddamn glasses at home

Put the tail on for a pic..
Put the tail back in the car
Dumped oil & filter
Moved bike under the swamp cooler
Installed the stud that ...

But not quite the same thing as the trim on the NeatiEase. The frame in that one looks pretty substantial.
They're hollow extruded aluminum, weigh nothing & have the structural integrity of a spider web.

Re: '95 ZX11-D3 & '99 ZRX11-C3 stuff

A few people are saying the ZX11 may be caused by a knackered battery.. and it was a cheapy installed the day I bought the bike (June 29, 2022). Gonna throw a new battery at it & use the old one on the GPz750 while fettling the electrics on that bike.

Ah, sorry, we're looking at the window fittings. Looking for something to fit between the original windows and the secondary glazing.

Re: What's the deal with Magpies?

Many years ago step dad shot a pigeon early one morning trying to build a nest on the vent for the bathroom on the top floor. It was mortally wounded but managed to fly off, only to die in flight about 150ft away.
At this point a neighbor came out of his house in his jammies & dressing gown to pick ...

Dunno, my boss used to shoot them. Reckoned they ate other birds chicks but squirrels are far worse for that.
I have a pair who frequent my garden, I feed them and they leave gifts by the back door.
Apparently they're one of the most intelligent birds.

You can train them to talk... or at least ...
