Re: Hope no-one has been buying classics as an investment

Looking on tbe brght side, I reckon they'll be a few OK condition but cheaper bodyshells for classic cars that people could fit lecky kits to. Many classic cars are a bit wank anyway and the kind of thing that beetles down the A66 at 60 sounding like its in reverse as I pass it in my 19 year old wor...

First time in 2 years we have water in the dried river 20241115_162423.jpg No wonder its dried, its concreted to speed up the flow. Slow the flow, increase the porosity and on land where lack of water is an issue it usually helps. Swales, bends in the river, dams, pools and even beaver dams often c...

Re: Recommend a Bluetooth speaker - old Bose speaker to phone 😡

The Festool one makes a LOT more sense if you already have the batteries, I had them for my cordless ripsaw which urinates over almost everry saw on the market (apart from an even more expensive Mafell) from a great height. Nothing that Makita/De-Walt/Hikoki/Milwaukee/whatever makes even comes close...

Re: Recommend a Bluetooth speaker - old Bose speaker to phone 😡

I fully realise that this is a bit of a niche product recommendation as I bought this cos I already had a saw that used the batteries but... I have a Festool BR10 DAB + which does err DAB + bluetooth from a phone, FM radio, aux in and even charges my phone while its doing it. Wasnt cheap at £168 (mi...

Re: In todays news...

I've got a dog and regularly used to walk past the hotel where assylum seekers were housed, many from countries with predominantly muslim population. The odd person wasn't used to dogs by the way they kept out of the way or possibly the dogs they were used to were a bit feral. Not a big deal and loa...

War isn’t nice. Don’t start one.
Who started the war then?

The current unpleasantness? That Hamas lot who were in charge of Gaza.

Are they pleased with themselves, do you think?

Approximately 70% of the over 40 thousand people killed duing Israels genocidal rampage a d quest for more land are women and children. Well it's Islamophobia awareness month dontch'a know. ....and rampaging gangs of Muslim immigrants are beating up Jews in Amsterdam to celebrate. Not sure if that's anything to argue about, wonder if it will even make the mainstream news? I am kinda curious as to why we in the UK are allowing "...

Living in a city or just visiting one for pleasure. I can’t for the life of me see why anyone would choose to be closely surrounded by hoards of other people. I tolerate it on my occasional visit to Twickenhan, other than that I stay well clear. When I lived on the border of the enclosed land to th...

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.

Not so insignificant, but today my dog has made me incredibly happy as in the last 24 hours have seen him achieve two major milestones: 1. Last night he slept at my feet for the first time in nearly a month 2. He happily went for a run along the coastal path off lead with great attention to me and ...

And I also want a decent residual value after 10 years and 100k miles. That's a bit of an ask for ANY car. Quick example, here's a list of 10 year old BMWs with >100k on them, they've all lost 80-90% of their value with a very few exceptions for 'special' stuff. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-sea...

Even if you don't like football/boxing/golf/competitive tiddlywinks I'd have thought you'd at least get the idea of why people like competitive pastimes? And if even if you don't like football you probably like motorcycle racing, for example, which is basically the same thing bar a few details ;) Y...

Re: Valencia floods threaten season-ending GP

Saw some reports of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans chanting racist abuse through the minutes silence for the Valencia dead during the lead up to their match in Amsterdam.
Their reason for doing so? That Spain supported Palestinians genocide case.
Seemed a tad inflammatory to me.

Oxymorons.

If it's glass then it's not a chopping board.
Board : a thin, flat piece of cut wood or other hard material, often used for a particular purpose.

I'm pretty much with that ^
Unless it's producing them from the old molds for engines and so on.
Maico did some of that and I'm ok with the way they did it but the modern Norton was taking the piss IMO.
